Great article against the plethora of click bait articles bashing the new movie.

Also for Arp regarding the rehashing of plot lines in SW.

I did not read this but Star Wars was on the box yesterday when I checked. It however was in Spanish.

I sit and wait.

I watched this last night. Liked it a lot, maybe even loved it. It was everything good about Episode 4 (simple, clear story, memorable characters, excellent pacing, full of wonder), without everything bad about episode 4 (bad acting, awful special effects, lame villain)

I thought Rae was Luke's daughter when watching the film, I thought it was heavily implied, but my wife did not agree, so I don't know.

After watching all of the original trilogy recently(although I confess I got bored/sleepy and never finished return of the Jedi), my rankings are:

7 (by a country mile), 5,4,6

forgot to mention, I think the worst part of the movie was Carrie Fisher/Princess Leia. While Harrison Ford maintained his screen presence over the years, I didn't really buy Fisher/Leia as a general/former princess.

Yeah, she's all short and plumpy now... Mouth can't move anymore when she talks.... funny, She could have played Maz, then she would have at least been in a mask.

It was a clever way to remake A New Hope without actually calling it a remake. It brought all the old characters back to appeal to us oldtimers and created new characters to bring in a new audience.

My first thought was Rey is Luke's daughter, but that seems too obvious.

They killed off my favourite Star Wars character. I always liked Han Solo because he never let the movies get too serious...if you know what I mean.

I see Dubey's point about Fisher as Leia, but like Steve, I love Carrie Fisher. I think she'd be so great to sit down and have a few drinks with.

The more I think about it Rey has to be Obi Wan's granddaughter.

That's what my wife thinks. I'm not sure.

The jedi mind control and the similarity to "these aren't the Droids you're looking for" is a clincher for me.

I like the idea floating around that she is Anakin reincarnate... it would fit with the ringtheory/full circle idea....

What did everyone think of rogue one? Saw it last night. I liked it a lot. seemed quite a bit darker than the other movies. First movie (I think?) which added shades of grey to each side rather than just straight up good (rebels) vs. Evil (republic)

Seen it twice. Liked it. Def a lot darker. I didn't like the last few minutes because it seemed disjointed from the rest of the movie and seemed Lucassy to me. I understand it, just didn't like the presentation.

I bought Krennics Shuttle (Lego) last week. Can't wait to build it.
