talk about an ***hole

 My buddies and i play a regular game of Texas every 2nd Friday nothing outrageuos ,usually we'll play about 8hrs and have tournies of 25$ each throughout the night . This time it's at my place , i have a pretty cool set up in the basement ( poker table, dart board foos ball with a little bar & fridge) . Anyways one of my buddies asks if he can bring a friend from work , i say ask the others personally i don't mind . So 7pm rolls around and in walks my buddy with his pal from work . Right off the bat i can tell he's either had too much to drink or too much to smoke or too much of both . I say , hey man you know Texas he says ya you'll find out ! I'm thinkin ya know you've just been invited to play poker with a bunch of guys you don't know and first impression you want to get across is your an arrogant dick , so ok whatever . Anyways long story short not even 20 minutes into the first tourney and i lose it on him ( i had a feeling it would happen , but not so early ) . Him and i in the hand because he raised a redicoulous amount as he's done every hand so far and won 75% of em because we were not catching anything in the whole or on the flop and he would raise regardless , a real wildcard type . Anyways i had KQ :club: he had A :D K :D so i call his raise flop comes 2K4 rainbow , i bet he raises i call, turn blank , i bet he just calls , river K , i check hoping he would go all in like he has done on every hand he's won up to know , sure enough ****head does it , i call , he says hope you have something good i say ( as i show him the K ) is this enough , he says ya , then laughs and lets me collect the chips and says oh wait i have the A kicker man isn't that a kick in the ass he says sorry dude i didn't realize . You mother ****** your done man get the **** out of my house he says why take it like a man . Honestly it wouldn't of bothered me but it's the way he did it that got to me as he gets up to collect his chips back from the pot that he thinks he won , he knocks over his beer ( that i asked him 3x to put in the cup holder thats what it's for ) onto the table and running right through the felt , threw my New England Patriot's logo . Well my buddy (6' 4" 230lbs picks him up by under his pitts and tossed out the door for me , he then had the nerve to come back and ask for his cigarettes that he left behind . Moral of story home games should be friendly .

LOL, it is your house, but I'd invite that guy back everytime if he's willing to play like that. That's a walking atm. It's amazing how upset "good" players get when bad players beat them (insert sarcasm here). The slowroll was uncalled for though.

I had a guy like that show up at the regular home game I play at every other Saturday Night. He was some one's "friend from work" and showed up already after having a little too much to drink. His name was Chism, so we decided to call him Skip. (Anyone who's name is that close to jism needs a nickname.) He kept drinking the whole night and got on a few people's nerves. He had no idea what he was doing, which bothered a lot of the serious players at the table. I didn't mind him at all. As long as he wants to give his money away, I will keep playing with him. I hope he shows up every night we play.

Serious about what? Playing with other predictable bad players who think they're good. You were right on, you want him there everytime to take his money. Anyone who thinks they're a serious player, but gets annoyed or would want a player like that gone is not serious at all, they're weak players.

I dont know thats not how I would treat my guests. Sound slike you were more upset cause u were runnin bad and got outplayed on that hand.
I agree with this guy. Story read like nothing more than sour grapes to me. Guy was a dillhole for sure, but you should've been able to get through that game and just make sure to tell your buddy not to bring him over ever again.

Let me get this straight, the guy is hammered and not very good as you say, but he plays you like a donkey and takes all your chips so instead of taking it like a man you have your buddy toss him out. Moral of the story: you are a bad poker player and a sissy.

Punctuation is your friend.
And the ENTER key is his sworn enemy.
You should look under the guys name and see where he is from before you criticize anybody. He is from Quebc, which is mostly French speaking. And I thought his English was pretty damn good.Poker is an international game, and this isn't a college English class, so quit bashing people, especially those from a different country who are here making a pretty damn coherent post.

He spilled his fucking beer on his nice poker table after he asked him multiple times to put it in the cup holder, that's why they were invented. You did the right thing throwing the prick out.But to be safe, if you have someone new coming over to your house, have some poker chips with spikes inserted on the outsides and have them ready in your pocket, so if they get out of line, you can show them that you're not messing around. No one wants to mess with a poker ninja.

However i do respect your input and understand what you are getting at .

so lets recap: you got pushed around by a superior player. Then you overplayed KQ and got busted. Then he slow rolled you. Then you have frankenstein use his head to open the door? puuuulease. If you think thats poor etiquette, i wouldnt get your hopes up about playing in a real game anytime soon. What are you gonna do when grampa on your left pulls a greenchip out of his underwear and tries to toss it in the pot, and calls everyone in sight a cunt/bitch/cocksucker when he loses the pot?

You should have just told him that the house rules are that verbal statements trump physical actions, and by saying your K was good, he had surrendered his hand and his cards were dead. That would have put him on tilt the rest of the night and you could have used all the money he would have thrown away to re-felt your table.

A slow roll is not good for any game. I HATE SLOW ROLLERS!!!I will have fun with my cards if I am first to act...I was at the Wynn last weekend...it went to the river with me and the small blind. We checked the river, so he is first to act. He just sits there after the dealers asks him to flip his cards over. After a few seconds I flip my top pair with a K kicker. He looks at me for a second...fakes a discard and flips the top two pair. We had not exchanged words all night...that is until he pulled that move. His response to my accusing him of being a slow roller - "You could have waited for me to flip my cards". I guess the 5 seconds and the dealer asking was not enough. All slow rolling is bad for the game. A playfull exchange is ok, but in general it is a dick move.

perhaps you have misread the part were he spilled his beer all over the poker table after i told him 3x , that in itself is enough of a reason in my books , besides as i said earlier in other posts it is a home game , if Grampa throws in a green chip at the casino the i'm good with that i'll also pull out his chair for him when i bust him .

They don't have the ENTER key (or its French equivalent) on French-Canadian keyboards?
