  1. Anybody playing Interpoker SNG's? I want to know about the starting chips, buy-ins, blind increments, etc.?
  2. UB 1500PokerStars 1500Poker Room 1500Doyles Room 2000Full Tilt 1500Paradise 1000Stay away from Party. 800 starting chips is rediculous, if you want to play 800 starting chip counts, don't bother, go out and buy scratch tickets instead!
  3. I play SitnGo's exclusively and I have lost five or six in a row in one day before but have never been out of the money on consecutive days. Just be patient, play through the rough spots, re-evaluate your game, look for leaks, etc. This happens to everyone and if your in the money rate drops to below 25% after you have recorded 200-300 STT's than you may have to look at getting out of these or dropping down to a lower level if you have a bankroll left.
  4. I found PokerStars to be a great place to learn becuase of the tougher competition. UB now has 1500 starting chip Sitngo's which are great and the competition is a mix of good players and fish. By far I have found the PokerRoom to be the most profitable with 1500 chips to start out with as well.
  5. Books and Playing, Playing, Playing! Books help out with the fundamentals. Poker is so situational and that following one set of guidelines in a book may not be to your advantage. However, I have been reading over and over Harrington's new book and have found it to be very good for NL (ST and MT poker).
  6. I have been playing online for two years and I do not think that it is rigged. I play very low buyin Sitngo's and have seen just about everything! However I am holding my own and maintaining my bankroll with a small profit over the past four months. COld streaks and bad beats are common and I too get frustrated but I recognize that these elements are part of the game. Take a break, read a book and then go back at it.I played in a home game the other night with five of my buddies. We played 92 hands of cards. One guy had a full house twice in a row, another had AA twice and I had AA once
  7. Limping in is a very good strategy, depending on position and your starting hand. If I am in an early position for example I may limp in with a mediocre hand like K10 os. If I get raised or the flop does not connect than I get out. By limping in, sometimes you hit the monster or two pair with a rainbow flop and you can accumulate alot of chips this way. This is not a hard and fast rule and I do not always do this. A lot depends on table composition, position and other variables.
  8. Hi Mase,The best place to play poker on line is a tough question! It depends on what type of poker you like to play, budget, and your skill level to name but a few of the variables.I have played at Party, UB and Stars. Lots of fish at the lower levels on Party. You can make money at the lower levels on Party but if you are trying to advance your game and knowledge, I would suggest PokerStars. Even at the lower levels on Stars, the competition and knowledge of the players is better than Party players from my perspective. UB is a happy medium. If you like to play Sitngo's the Blind struct
  9. Hi kjfranc,I play STT most of the time and occasionally MTT's. When I play Sitngo's for example I play very tight for the first three rounds and really only get aggressive with AA, KK, QQ (going in all). I wait for some of the loose players to burn out within the first three rounds. Once I am down to four or five I open up my game, steal blinds, bluff, etc., and I don't go all in unless I am short stacked. You need to do this because of blind progression.Be patient, I think this is key when you are on the Bubble. The cards will come and when they do, bet the bejesus out of em'. Be t
  10. Hi Down South, I think you should be considering pot odds against all players! This is a vital key to success online and in the B&M's too. In addition your though process should also include the correct starting hands to play and position at the table in relation to starting hands. If you need help with pot odds and hand rankings look into software that can be used online while you play to figure this stuff out. ie Sklansky theory. It may slow down your game but it can save you allot of money in the long run!
  11. When I started playing I set aside $500.00 and read allot of posts about the appropriate level of poker I should be playing to stay self suffient and hopefully not go broke. I settled in on the .25 and .50 limit holdem full ring games but quickly ate up $100.00 in about two weeks. I then shifted gears and started playing $5.50 NL SitnGo's exclusively and have not looked back at limit games. Limit games do not fit my style of play, but that is just me! Others, may argue that you will get a greater ROI from Limit? In regards to keeping track of my bankroll and statistics such as ROI I am
  12. I am playing $5.50 SNGo's now on PokerStars and was wondering if anyone has been playing at the $10.00 and $20.00 level and whether or not these higher levels play harder or easier that the $5.00 level, or what (if anything) I may notice if I move up a level or two?
  13. I see this often on Stars when i am playing SitnGo's. Once someone has doubled up in chips (between 2500 and 3000), they sit out and start another Sitngo. Or they sit out and let the others beat each other up and then resume play when the table is down to five or six. I have done this myself so I can't complain. Its just one of those things and there is nothing that can really be done about it.One time I was playing in a SitnGo and one of the opponents had somewhere in the range of 3200 to 3500 chips within the first two rounds. They sat out the whole Sitngo after that. They ended up in
  14. I find that there is abig difference in play from day to night. During week days the player's tend to be more disciplined and play sound poker. At around 4:30 pm EST there are allot of loose and undisciplined players. At about 7:00 pm EST things settle back down.Weekend play is something different all together. A lot of reckless gambling day and night. I prefer to play late on Friday and Saturday nights when allot of people have been drinking. Last Friday for example I played a $5.50 SitnGo on Stars at about 11:00 pm EST. After the completion of three rounds we where down to four playe
