  1. 1. What Will be the Outcome?

    • Serge wins by a landslide, purchases Gionta jersey and Wellwood hand towel in euphoria.
      3
    • Serge sqeaks it out, relying on a few well timed empty-netters...err... suckouts.
      1
    • Nate wins in 6, throwing a token game to Serge out of pity.
      4
    • Nate wins by a whisker, allowing Serge to preserve some measure of pride.
      1

Before the Superbowl on Sunday, the REAL pre-game show will start on the tables, with Blackdraft and Mustangs gm's sitting down to duke out a best 5 of 9 heads up. Game selection is a bit of a problem, as Serge is a LHE guy while I am probably the worst LHE player going. Serge has agreed to play some HORSE, although I'd be willing to drop 7hi/low and Razz if he doesn't play those games, and also because we might be short on time - maybe do a 7stud/PLO8/LHE/NLHE rotation, whatever acronym you can invent for that... whatever it is we'll try to find a balance between the hi/low pot/nl games I play and the fixed limit high games he plays (from what I understand).Thoughts on the outcome, and anyone want in on some sidebets? Sleuthis has already taken Serge.Oh ya, Serge is offering me, and anyone else who challenges him, 3:2 on their money that day.......lol

First of all lets get one thing straight...Its either HORSE or just NO LIMIT HOLDEM..you cant keep changing the rules to suit you...Second of all I have been beating poker consistently for the last 12 years...I put my self through school and bought a car through poker when YOU were still in diapers...Just thought people should know about my POKER RESUME before making silly bets against me.I didnt start playing Holdem like the rest of you kids after watching Rounders or the WPT on tv....So before making comments do some homework.

i'm sure someone with your poker pedigree would know that it is extremely unlikely you're a 2:1 favourite heads-up against any reasonable player unless you guys play with ridiculously deep stacks.

Well in a format that is best of 9...I like my chances against most people...Lets face it Nate is not Phil Ivey...

I was messing with the HORSE formula to make it a little more even, I didn't figure that your specialty lies in games lie Razz and Seven Hi-Low (which are actually my stronger games) so I was trying to make it a fairer bet, not to tilt it in my favour (plus those games I singled out tend to take a lot longer).I'll do 5 of 9 no limit hold'em in a heartbeat, however. I have no issues with no limit, just limit, let's stick to that. And so you kids shouldn't start making silly bets, I DID start playing Hold'em after watching Rounders and the WPT and I HAVEN'T derived any cosistent income from poker over the last 12 years. And let's face it, I'm not even that Ivey impersonator in the Full Tilt commercial, I'd be fired after an hour for getting too nervous when Ivey bet and folding every take. That doesn't mean I won't beat Serge, however. :club:

Two hilarious hands from the night:Hand #1, Blinds 500/1000, chip counts are approximateMe, UTG: 14,000Gruven, Button: 6000Krusty, SB: 5000Bob, BB: 9000I get KK UTG, and make it 4500 (remember blinds are 500/1000), Gruven folds POCKET TENS!!!, Krusty Folds ACE QUEEN SUITED?!!?... Bob folds junk and 4-handed I get no action with KK v. 1010 v. AQ when the blinds are huge? What? Then a few hands later.....Hand #2, Blinds 1000/2000Bob, UTG: 5000Me, Button: 16,000Gruven, SB: 6000Krusty, BB: 6000Bob pushes all-in, I re-raise all-in to isolate, Gruven folds, and then Krusty folds ACE KING SUITED.... lol..... 1/3 of his stack is in his big blind and he doesn't call .... I think he was getting around 5:1 on his money.... I couldn't believe it. I also had AKs and I hit my spades for the flush, I don't know how I didn't get paid off there.Somehow Krusty did manage to stick around to chop with me when we got heads up, but in the span of the last fifteen hands or so he folded AQs once, AQ offsuit TWICE, AK suited once, and played AQ once (yes he got the hand like four times in ten hands) when he checked it from his BB... craziness.... also Sleuthis' complete inability to win a race was funny/sad, although probably not for him.

Hey, my reason for laying down 10/10 was solid. I figured you'd make a play at me or Krusty, but on the reraise with BOB, i figured you had to be on AT LEAST AK if not a higher pair. Considering it was the bubble, that's a pretty smart laydown....

yeah yours was a good read, not sure what exactly I did to tip you off but I'd better be more careful in future :club:
I think it was the 'holy crap I've got KK' you muttered when you looked at your cards....
