Tourney Situation Question

Hate doing this but couldn't really find any quick search results so...Was playing in a tourney last night, blinds 50-100. UTG has yet to act, UTG+1 announces raise and throws in 325 out of turn. UTG then moves in for 1400 or so. Was curious what the ruling is on this as UTG+1's raise is not a legal raise obv after (what should have been) the original push by UTG. Is UTG+1 committed to leaving a dead 325 in there if he decides to fold after the push?

I would say yes he can either call at that point or leave the money in the pot.

10. Deliberately acting out of turn will not be tolerated. A player who checks out of turn may not bet or raise on the next turn to act. An action or verbal declaration out of turn may be ruled binding if there is no bet , call, or raise by an intervening player acting after the infraction has been committed.Robert's Rules is curiously silent in the event that someone raises out of turn and then then in turn player bets/raises. And wishy/washy if there is an intervening bet/raise. My understanding is that the most common policy is to require the out of turn player to leave his raise amount in the pot and give him the option to call or fold for the additional amount. Nothing in the rules however seem to indicate that this MUST happen. I think it's largely a matter of house rules/floor judgment.

Money stays in the pot, he can call if he wants, but can not take it out.

Thx all. That was the ruling we consensified on. Just for completion sake of this post (ggggguh)...he ended up calling as did the shortest stacked player behind him. UTG had 10/10, he had A/J and the shortie had A/K. The 10's held. Sooo rigged.
