How was the tourney structure? Ive played in the $85+15 before, and I believe each level was 15 minutes. Is it adjusted at all in the $240? There were some all right players in the $100, but certainly nothing spectacular.

You probably don't have what it takes, most people don't and I don't see how there's any way to distinguish between you and Joe Shmoe from reading your post. Well here is the problem right here. A TAG player sees 10 to 20% of the hands not 20 to 30%. You are a LAG player. Therefore, the "bad beats" you are taking are not really bad beats. You are getting more action because of the type of player that you are. People will be more willing to mix it up with you than with a TAG player.Also, you mentioned that your reads postflop were dead on and that you know when you have the best hand. But do you know when the best hand is still not a favorite to win the hand? Do you take into accoutn pot odds and implied odds? Do you take time to think about

thank god somone finally understands what I have been saying. I said I have no problem getting my money in with the huge poket pair hands, and of course this will continue. I typically pay between 20-30% of the starting hands in a $20-50 tourney, which I think is about right for my tight/aggressive style. I tend to change it up along the way. Is 20-30% too much play? Obviuosly, if Im catching good cards then no, which is typically the case when I play a lot of hands. You can check my blog in for my beats which is pretty much becoming a way to overcome them.

Wow, so ill defend myself again. I never said I was a losing player. Im up plenty so far in my time playing. Im not taking enough beats to blow my earnings to be a net loser. That would be difficult as I dont play cash often. The whole point of the original post was how am i doing relative to other people taking this very seriously over their first couple years. Not about bad beats. The beats have always been there but recently have been a little out of control. I hope this clears things up. I dont really feel the need to lie to anybody about this...
