7/9 potawotami trip report

Recommended Posts

Posting this in strategy, because I want the critiques :club: I don't mind, I've only played live poker a couple of times, and this is my first time since Vegas (the one before Vegas I was really clueless lol)First a read on the table, I had good reads on 5 of the other players who were there the whole 3.5 hours. I was in seat 6. 1 and 4 had been dueling for 8 hours before I sat down. For only my 6th limit session in a casino, I was glad to have pretty good reads on 5 of the players. Not a bad effort. 2/4 LHE w/ kill for players who win two in a row1-Very loose sometimes aggressive, sometimes passive2- rock3-couldn't get a read on him, maybe cause he kept getting up and walking around, dunno, never really in a big pot with him4-Complete maniac-but also a reasonably tricky player who I clashed with a few times5-fish Really didn't understand the game6-me7-Rock of Gibraltar, but a great guy. 8 and 9 had several players each-oddly. 9 started with the most passive player I've ever seen, kept calling down with Ace no kicker and making the best hand. The other two players didn't stay long. 8 the only one that mattered was the second player who loved raising and bluffing a lot at 2/4. Lol, he had 4 or 5 kill handsAnyway: On to the hands. Nothing interesting for the first round or two then I got 10-10. I raised first in, and only seat 1 called. He had position on meK-K-x flop. Good flop heads up. Except I bet the flop. Call. Blank on the turn. Bet call. Blank on the river. I decided to bet again out of position...and he called. I showed first and said "can you beat this" Yup. KJ. Lol.K-4 suited on the button in hearts. Several limpers so I limp along also. K-x-x on the flop with two diamonds. 3 checks to me so I take a stab and get two calls. 4 of diamonds giving me two pair but a 3-flush out there. Checked by the other two left in the hand and I bet my two pair. A 4th diamond on the river. Bet and called in front of me. Easy fold x.x Ace of diamonds and 6 of diamonds respectively. LOL @ the 6 thinking its the best handMissed with AK and AQ leaving me with about half my stack when the following two hands were played against the nutcase in 4. Now, he was crazy, but I still played this hand the following. I raised his kill token with black kings. The best hand I've had at Potawotami, lol, and only my 2nd pair of the day. He calls. Q-Q-x flop. He checked and I bet, he called immediately. Ace on the turn. Damn. He bets out. I thought about it for a while, and folded my kings faceup. Don't ask why...I knew he had me beat, because if he didn't have it, he would have either bet the flop or check-raised the turn I felt. His betting out led me to believe that he had hit his crap ace. The fold faceup...yeah, I kinda pulled a Hellmuth and complained about the rigged deck. He showed a junk card first...then an ace...which I knew he almost certainly had. The dealer and the table were shocked. BTW, I thought he had either the ace or a queen for those reasons. Crazy, but I saved moneyVERY NEXT HAND. Potowatami allows you to raise an option with the kill button if you're not in the BB. So he opened raised to 8. I made it 12 with AK of clubs. A-J-10 flop. Not bad, He bet, I raised he called. I'm almost out of chips which is the problem here x.x Q on the turn. He checked, I bet, he raised and I threw my last 7 chips in. I had planned on just being done after that hand if I hadn't won it, so rebuying was out of the question. I felt it was probably a split, but he showed J-10 and blanked the river :D Back up to 80 dollars after being all in there, not bad. Unfortunately I only won 1 hand after that with AQ when I raised preflop and bet the flop with an ace showing. YAWN. Ended at 57 dollars, not terrible considering I almost left broke.Conclusion:3.5 hours -43 dollars -3 BB/HR, but I had a lot of fun, and I'm going to begin going twice a month or so. I now have 1200 set aside for a bankroll, I won 132 dollars at 2/4 in Vegas (using a 200 hand bonus :D - lost at NL and Pai Gow but that doesn't count) Current Bankroll is 1289
