Ron_Mexico 4,219
First of all, this is my first original post so hooray for me. Anyway, on to my question. I enjoy a serious poker game and playing straight and making good calls, but unfortunately my local casino only offer straight $2 as its max game. Boooring. So to spice it up, I occasionally like to raise and play in the dark. If someone else at the table is game, we cap every round at $8 bucks. The whole table knows we are playing in the dark. I've also done this at a $5 $10 game without the capping of course, I'm not stupid. (debatable) Win some, lose some. Really fun to do and spice up a boring low limit game. How much gamble you all got in ya?
LuckyMcCatcher 0
After I have a bad session at the BM I go online and raise every pot regardless of my starting hand. I follow it up by a bet every time no matter what flops. I dont do it often but I think I am winning using this method so far. Its hilarious and makes me feel better about the bad beats I took at the B&M. I usually end up putting the whole table on tilt and half the players iso-reraise me which of course never works when I am catching
DeNuts1 0
How much? Um....I once chased a possum through a strangers front yard in my underwear. No....I don't mean boxers. Oh yeah, I was also swinging a pipe wrench at it wildly.
DCSports92GSR 0
Honestly? My friends think im nuts.I play LIMIT cash games seriously, as they're my main profit maker, but if me and some friends get together for a NL Cash game, I usually go absolutley nuts, but Id STILL say that 7/10 times I get my money in with the best hand, just because since Im so loose, they can never give me credit. As an example of how agressive I am, I never ONCE in the last 4 games i've played in, CALLED an all in, I was always the one betting, I've just been getting unlucky. For example, a hand last night ME - Ks,KcFlop 2s, 3s,7sEnded up getting all my chips in v.s. 7d,7c and 2c,2h, no spade and its rebuy time.TWO nights ago.ME As,Js v.s. 10d,Jd he called all in pre-flop.Flop Qs, Qd, 4cTurn - 9dRiver KdNext handAll in with queens v.s. A-10os, ace on flopSo I really think that once my luck turns around I'll start winning again, but I definatley take chances in a cash game. Why not? I get my gamble out of my system and save the FOCUSED play for when it matters in a larger FL game or a NL Tourney.

How much gamble you all got in ya?Last night in my cash game i was losing $120 after like 3 hours (aces cracked twice by presto and 10 10), so i rebought and started playing totally in the dark.I was actually winning pots with like Q-high after people tried to get me to fold by making big bets- this is the best thing about dark poker, people will try to bet you out of the pot but they forget you can always look if you need to.Anyway, I dark raised $6 UTG and got 2 callers. the flop hit Kh Jh 2c. Everyone checks and I fired $10 into the pot. I was re-raised by my friend, who said "I'm gunna do this just to make you look."I'm not one to take this from anyone, so I'm like, "No shot, I'm all in!" I re-raised him a total of about $34.My other buddy looks at my cards and whispers to me, "Bad move!"After going in the tank, the other guy calls and flips up 3h-4h for the heart draw. I turn up... 8s-4c for eight high, and the best hand! AIYAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!The turn comes 5 and now my friend can beat me with a 3, an Ace or 6 for the straight or a heart for a flush. Rut roh!River: Another King, and I take the hand down with K K J 8.Now if i was not playing dark several things would not have happened: He would not have raised me with the weak flush draw and called my all in. This is what I mean, who in their right mind pushes in with 4-high? He did it cuz he thought he was a favorite over me no matter what! Also if I looked at my cards after his re-raise I would have folded.

NicksDad1970 0
The other night I played at a B&M had some semi bad beatas put on me. So I went and played in a tourneyplayed basically on tilt, got what I deserved. I told myself instead of whining like I have been just see how long I could play like em w/o going bust. So I got on PP. Bought into a .10/.25 25 max buy in NL game with 15 dollars. I told myself I would have 2 moves fold or all-in. I told my wife any face card I was going all in. I got up to 60 bucks and finally lost it all in the next 2 hands.
alf13 0
I got gamble....I had more when I was younger....I would take my whole bankroll of $2,500 when I first started and sit in ONE game with it.....That was of course....6 years ago.....I have since matured and have developed wiser BR management skills. dmoneypoker 0
all good ways to become a great poker player.....if stevie wonder played this way would it be called playing in the dark, or just playing.... see , these are the things that keep me up at night....Playing in the dark does honestly have its benefits. First since you arent focusing on your cards it helps you to read opponents and to bet them according to what you think they have. Too many times, people throw the best hand away when they know someone is bluffing to wait for an even better spot, only to have the spot never show up. Playing dark allows you to crush people every time they bluff, if you read them correctly. You can always peek at your cards too if you want, but that prevents you from calling with the best hand a lot of times when someone has 4-3 and you have 8-4. Secondly it throws other people off of their game, because they're thinking "Free money!". Like playing in the dark magically means I don't really have a hand under there. Third it's always good to change styles every once in a while. I am usually tight so when I go in the dark I get a ton of action. Finally, it's a LOT of fun.I only play dark when I'm losing and losing a few more bucks means nothing, or sometimes I will dark call UTG or dark check BB, just to switch it up.
