Record keeping software / spreadsheet

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend any good poker record keeping software? Maybe you made a spreadsheet yourself and would like to post it :D I remember reading that Daniel used to keep meticulous records, even writing down who smoked. Thanks, Owise1A smart man learns from his own mistakes, A wise man learns from the mistakes of others.

If you play on Party Poker, I would recommend PokerOffice. It allows you to track everything live without downloading your hand history.Just out of idle curiosity, why wouldn't you want to dowload your hand history?

I have a very basic excel spreadsheet that I just reset for most of the year. I'll post it up or email it to you if you want. You have to enter amt won or lost and the hours you play. It calculates your earnings, hours and hourly rate for each month and for the year.I have no idea how to post something up here though, so I may need to email it to you.

With PartyPoker the hand history is already stored on your harddrive. There is no need to email PP and get the hand history. With PokerOffice, the program takes advantage of this and does live tracking.Other poker sites you have to request your hand history through email.

Pokercharts.com is especially good if you either want to enter the information in manually (which can be good so you are more aware of your results) or if you play in B&M casinos and/or clubs.I think you can view over 20 graphs of the data along with many other statistics etc.

I started working with Pokercharts.com last night, and it's great. I can give you the one I have if you need it, but try that. I'm going to that now that the new year is here and I'm starting over

I think there was a thread about this somewhere else... but since this one is here too... I just got pokertracker.. and I just have no idea what to take from it. I don't know how to rate or what to pay most attention to. Anyone have any good criteria to put into auto-rating players or anything like that?

I don't know about software driven auto rating, but something I do right after sitting down is starting to put players into basic categories: "seat one: ABC, seat two: new and timid, seat three: vet, seat four: maniac" etc... then I basically keep myself sensitive to changes in their moods and adjust as they do. If you put those notes into players notes, like " 3 maniacs, 3 abc, 2 new kids, 3 vets over the course of the session" you can see the kinds of games you do better in. You might be surprised. For a long time I thought I didn't handle maniacs well, but over the long haul they made me a lot more money then they guys I was comfortable with. I was just uncomortable with the maniac. Once I saw the truth in that trend though, I relaxed and just new that they can snap me off here and there and I may not get much from them in key pots, but they're definitely going to bleed off a couple of bets per pot to me that they shouldn't. Knowing the numbers helps you to be comfortable with that, so those notes are valuable.
