It's not like I think he's a bad player. He obviously isn't. He just doesn't really seem to do well against the big name pros when I've seen him.
My very humble opinion here is that he's a much better cash player than tournament player.
Once again Daniel is out early in a big event with poker's top players. Daniel peaked during what year? 2004, the year which had the most dead money after the Moneymaker poker boom. Daniel does well against weak players, but cleary he can not hold his own versus the top players. Just sayin, not hatin'
Did he not peak in 2004? He has gone deep in a few tournys since 04, but he hasn't dominated like he used to. The top players know how to take advantage of holes in his game.
In HSP season 5 he looked like a total donk. Another example of DN being out classed at the table with top pros.
lol @ everyone piling up on rivers because he didn't bow down to DN. Pretty obv he's not as good/doesn't care as much as he used to, and his results pretty much show that. No need to attack the guy.

As I recall I was talking more about HSP on someone elses quote when he has struggled in the past. He's been to 21 final tables and cashed 37 times or something like that. That's an amazing stat. I'm sure Ivey has a similar stat, seems like he always makes a final table or comes real close to it when he cashes.

Negreanu Takes First Pot of the DayStudThe first pot of the day on a stacked table 246 has gone the way of Daniel Negreanu. He bet on all streets before checking on the river against Hernan Salazar.Negreanu: Salazar: Negreanu showed down for a pair of aces which was good to take it down. He's up to 32,000. This table also features Barry Greenstein and Bill Chen.
