  1. I can't seem to find anything even under Amarillo Slim, the rest of the story is too vague or too hard to word exactly right to yield a response. It might not even be him, I was more hoping someone recalled the story and knew the player involved or the year of the event.
  2. And I'm running into the problem of the story being a bit too broad to narrow down without a year, event, or name. Searches like Mistake call with pocket kings aren't yielding any success.
  3. I'm trying to write an article, and I want to reference a story that I've read multiple times but I can't remember the exact WSOP event or the person who the story is about. In short, it revolved around final table bubble play, and the eventual winner of the tournament was playing very aggressive at his table and winning a lot of chips. He eventually burst the bubble himself by calling an opponent with KK, and when interviewed after that tournament said that calling this guy with KK was a mistake because the chips were basically free at his table as long as they were on the bubble. Any help he
  4. You actually have to SAY something in the chat in my experience before any online poker site will ask to see your ID. Either that or mess with their money in some way.I remember telling someone in a pokerstars chat that I was 14, and my account was closed when they reported it. I sent the ID and it was cool, but I requested everyone else in the SnG be carded, since it was likely someone underage "tattling" on my in the first place: I actually ended up in a phone call with Lee Jones over it and all he gave me was 1000 FPPs: and no one was carded. Bugsy's Club already doesnt have enough players,
  5. Guess a bluetooth headset is kinda a narrow prize to giveaway, not as many people signed up as I thought. Guess they dont realize whether they can use it for their phone or not it's still not a cheap piece of equipment!!! ANYWAY, I doubt we'll get more people before zero hour, and I know who everyone is except the team "Cinderella Story" his Yahoo name is all numbers. Thanks for signin up and good luck to ya!
  6. March Madness is one of my favorite times of the year: Now I dont own a poker site or anything, so I can't offer $500 cash, but Im offering a Bluetooth headset to the winner!!!You'll need a yahoo ID to participate, and the deadline is march 16th at 12:10 PM. Go here....http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/menAnd login with your yahoo ID.The ID number is: 99162Password is: sexystudIf you use a different name than your forum ID, please PM me, post somewhere, or in some way make an effort to tell me who you are before the tournament starts. Any uncertainty as to identity will leave prize fal
  7. It's because they effin moved it to this random forum that 5 people look at on a daily basis. Im gonna PM some people and see if we can get this thing back rolling before a couple of days.
  8. I actually know Roothlus personally, and his decision was 100% correct. The amount of time he comes out behind by refusing that chop is way less than the amount of times he beats those donks. One of them was consistently calling allins with KQ and ****! Let's forget that he's easily the best player that's left: the 36k doesnt mean much to him if he loses it: and that being the case he is completely right in trying to make more. If it were 5k for 3rd and 15k for first no one would be saying it was a bad decision. On top of it all by going though the motions, explaining that he was better, and t
  9. Im definitely in, and Im posting on Sunday, so we obviously dont have much time. Someone needs to make the definitive "Im holding the money, here's my stars SN, PM me saying yours and I'll give you the PW" kinda thing. Once Thursday hits all bets are off!
  10. I can't recall how close you are to Ft Myers there, it's probably more than an hour. There's the crappy dog track and Seminole down there that are closer, but I know most of the regularly run games here. There's a LOT of 1/2NL. As for higher I play in a 30/60 kill game and a 15/30PL game run by the same guys. I also have info on some 5/10 and 10/20 plus there's a casino boat that has similar limit games. PM me for more information.
  11. Like I said in the post, had I not lost the hand I wouldnt have even questioned the play. It's adversity that has always brought out the best poker thoughts of mine. If I'd never lost the hand I wouldnt have even begun to look at the situation critically. I did some quick math at home last night, and forgot to post it before i went to bed. I can't remember everything, but what I came up with showed that it WAS of course a call, but it was a lot closer than I would have originally thought. For example, it were a satellite situation where 1 and 2 pay out only 7x your buyin, you actually need to
  12. I try to make whatever threads I start a bit more thought provoking that your usual...and this one definitely falls into that category. Late in a turbo sng on Pokerstars, 200/400 blinds with the 25 ante. 3 players.Stacks...Hero: (BB) 1,600SB: 11k (Villian)Button: 625The very last hand the button bet 2000 on the flop, leaving himself 650, and folded when the Villian put his last chips in the pot. Hand 5d 5cThe guy with 625 on the button folds, and it comes to the big stack who limps. I was going to instantly fold 55 here, but since he limped (which he shouldnt do here, but we can't all play wel
  13. Im in for the $20, or maybe more if the guys who wanted to keep it low go to the FCP freeroll one?
  14. Im definitely in for this thing...But if it doesnt come together, check out some of the odds on Bodog. there's some really decnet prices IMO. But don't bet on Daniel! In 04-05 I woulda taken 12-1 in a second, but this guy can't win an 80-20 to save his life anymore! I spread some money on Raymer, Arieh, and Eli. Thoguht about D-W, but he's winning a WPT right now, so he's gonna be recovering from a night of banging the matador's daughter, Jessica Simpson, and Fergi.
  15. Thinking conversely though might help in your analysis...what kind of hand do you need to have to CALL if I were to move in on you here? That's what was running through my mind, and in fact I know personally I'd lay down JJ or less, but then I wouldnt be in this stupid position with JJ. His flat call is definitely weak, so what are the weak hands that you can call the 17k chip raise with if you're the guy UTG? AQ doesnt even seem like a call there. I think my biggest dilema with push fold here was whether I was going to give him any credit for laying down when his entire tournament is at risk
