  1. GSN just optioned it. We'll see if they actually order a season. No such announcement yet, however.
  2. No, GSN owns it. Poker PROductions just produces it for them. I think I'm familiar with all of Mori Eskandani's public statements and I've never heard him say they were shopping HSP. He's said just the opposite, though: that GSN owns it but cash games will get produced under other names, that PAD will have two weeks of cash games, etc. HSP is GSN's unless they sell it (rarely happens). There's plenty of stuff about this on Poker on TV. Search on Poker PROductions or Mori Eskandani on that site and you'll find lots of quotes about HSP.
  3. Absolutely, it could fold. The company has always lost money and its stock trades for less than liquidation value (which means that the management is destroying value). It's probably up to major shareholder Lyle Berman to decide whether they want to continue to try or not. GSN will air the rest of season six. It's season 7, which would start shooting soon, that has no home.
  4. ESPN won't pick it up: they've been cutting back on poker (remember the USPC?). Given that two channels have dropped WPT I'm not as sure as many of you seem to be that they'll get anyone to pick up the show. GSN was losing money on it, and they only paid enough to cover WPT's production costs. GSN owns High Stakes Poker, so I don't think it's coming back. It is possible that someone would buy the intellectual property from GSN, but that would be unusual.
  5. World Poker Tour Looking For A Broadcaster As GSN's Option Expires: GSN's option to air season seven of the World Poker Tour expired Saturday...WPTE is currently in discussions with several major networks to broadcast programming from its landmark seventh season, which kicks off July 11...
  6. Latest report from an insider is that they have not scheduled the filming of a 5th season at this time. It's up to GSN whether they do so.
  7. There's a rumor it'll be filmed in April or May.
  8. No. They haven't even filmed it yet. Poker on TV always lists the upcoming shows.
  9. Old news to people that use the interwebz.
  10. Poker on TV is the only site that tells you what's new. The others are just a long lists of all the poker shows on TV, mostly reruns.WPT Enterprises couldn't find anyone to pay for another season of the PPT. Many poker shows these days are time buys, though some, like the WPT, still sell their content. The PPL was canceled because of UIGEA fallout: their sponsors evaporated.
  11. No, I don't believe they'll do the TOC any more.
  12. Comcast DVRs are junk, but I haven't had that particular problem. Have you called CS and gotten them to send a reset signal? I find that's necessary periodically.
  13. 14. Layla's looking like the hottest one since Shana, and maybe ever, to me. I think this one will be a keeper.
