Just Woke Up

I woke up thursday morning at about 10am to leave for las vegas. i checked in around 9, had a few beers, and went to pick up ahson (aim_786) from the airport. zach (6668) was on the same flight and matt (acid knight) picks him up. we meet at the bellagio noodle house. i forget what i ordered. i had 2 24 oz asahi's. the food was good. ship zach the cc roulette bill. it was getting late and frank (loismustdie) is picking me up at 7:30am to go golfing. back at the room ahson and i start talking poker and can't stop. we end up playing some HU for fun. we each drop about $90 in rake playing each other, but eventually it becomes 7am and i got to meet frank and MJINK to take me to golf. i'll forgot a lot of people's name, but everyone's there at the golf trip. i go in the second group with ray (troyomac), seth (cardcore), and curt kurt. we couldn't have had a better bunch of guys. Were not really good, but everyone is super easy going, and knows how to laugh. i load up the cooler with a 12 pack, almost stick the fairway at #1 and we're off. (leftygolfer- i don't remember what i did on the 10th. lemme know your tilt or stars name to ship the $20). On the front as a team we probably loose a little over 30 balls. After 9 we load up another 12 pack of beers, more 16 packs of balls, and we're off again. seth, who's probably golfed the less of anyone on the trip, actually does pretty well. i almost drive ray off a cliff with me twice. i had 3 birdie putts on the back nine and 3 putted all of them. It was a SUPER tough course, but we all got through it. i don't think any of us shot over 120.afterwards we take monix back to the rio and frank wants to check out the wsop action. we run into balloon guy and i split with him to play some slots. insta hundo drop. we play blackjack. near insta hundo drop. more slots. win a little.frank and mjink find me and they drop me back off at my hotel. i shower and ahson and i get to the monte carlo late. i sit at the overflow table with pat (trussdude), and his friends brian and rob. we discuss things. by this point i've been up for about 34 hours and have probably had about 20 beers so there's certain things that are fuzzy. dinner was good. i didn't feel like sitting at a table anymore for some reason and ended up at this slot called spin poker. how does vegas stay in business with that machine on their floor?people from the group start walking by and i figure it's time for the tournament. scott (nutzbuster) picks up kings to aces and is the first player out. i got in a hand with ray in the first level.he pops the button and i defend with JT. i peel a A96 flop, spike a jack on the turn, and call. the river comes a jack and i lead big. i was so sure i was good ray could have shoved on me and got em all. but he made a littlish raise and won with his pocket sixes. at the time i was happy with my play. that time has passed. i got to sit next to vb nautilus in the tournament. he is seemed like a super cool dude and i was bummed i got busted and they made me move.i go back to spin poker. BG and scott meet up with me. slowly a few more do. i convince everyone that we should go shoot crap. we do, we loose money, it's fun.i go back just in time to watch like the final 15 hands from the tournament. i don't recal them. i know zach won a seat. i think i was yelling at everyone by that point. i went back to my hotel and feel asleep. totals: 40 hours awake, 28 beers or so. i just woke up.post: i apologize to anyone i left out (franchise, you should have come to the poker tournament. how long you in town until?). i apologize to anyone i was rude to, and to all the people to had to listen to status updates on how long i'd been awake. i'd like to give a HUGE thanks to anyone who helped organize anything. Troy, scott, and cope put a lot of work into it, and i had a super time.

My brief report on the dinner & tourney: Dinner seemed like a 3 mile long table full of people, so didn't have much interaction with people at the north wing of the table. I sat by rdog, pocktdeuces, aasnake, loismustdie and vick12. Vick12 was kinda shy and didn't say much, but seemed like a nice guy anyways. The tourney was a very slow structure, which would normally have been great, but holy crap it didn't end until 3 am. I really only played one significant hand; KK at 150/300/25 I make it 1000 over one limper. Zach shoves AQ. Flop Q, turn Q, and that's it for me. At least he took those chips and went on to win, so at least they went to good use (...or it shoulda been me!). Thanks to all who took to the time to set this up!

I will add this... trip report, trip over. Got back home 5 minutes ago. I was so badly sunburned I considered going to a hospital. I have never, ever felt pain on my legs like that. I think I busted 3 or 4th, two really gross flops and it was done. **** it. Anyway, I say good night and practically run back to my room I am in so much pain, but I am a bit tilted. I am stuck for the trip, plus I left my tennis shoes under my seat in the Monte Carlo poker room.(Long story.) So, in the midst of my pain I do what it takes to get untilted and rent a little hotel porn. I know me, I know what it takes to end the misery. Real quick story before I go to bed. Was walking the strip with Chrozzo and another guy who's (forgive me) name I don't remember, and Chrozzo sees a bum and asks me if I have a dollar. I say to myself "That's cool, he wants to give the bum a buck" and give him a dollar. He walks up to the bum and sticks out the dollar and says "Do you have any bottled water?" When the bum inevitably says no, he pulls the dollar back Al Bundy style and walks away. I am bent over laughing- keep in mind Chrozzo is hammered as well, we had been walking the strip and he was doing the leaning on walls thing and everything. Anyway, I say,"Dude, WTF? That was awesome, I never thought of doing that to a bum." He says, dead serous,"No,they sell water. Homeless guys sell water." I laughed so hard, the look on that Bu ms face was just ****ing priceless, I swear Chrozzo put that guy on life tilt for good. There are many other stories, but that's my favorite. Balloon Guy looks like my father in law, instantly likable guy, Kurt dresses gayer than 8 guys blowing 9 guys, Shannon said I was a closet gay, there was a guy on my side of the table, I am pretty sure it was AASnake but I was so out of it, but that dude talked more than anyone I ever met in my life, he was super nice. Ray was the most tired looking guy I ever met, visible defined dark circles, dude, get some sleep. Chrozzo was awesome, we hit it off instantly because we both share a love of Irish car bombs. Zach is a ********** for flopping A-Q to my A-6 when the flop came A-Q-6, same for the guy who flopped a flush to my flopped set of 9's. Goddamn I run bad. So may really nice people and let me just say I am proud of this community, what a motley crew of personalities but all worth knowing. Can't wait for next year.
