MontyEDITAlso, I don't remember the exact quote, but I do recall Chip Reese saying something about how it isn't always correct to make the mathematically correct play when you are at a distinct advantage comapred to your opponents.

  9. I -really- appreciate the support Canada. I don't mind responding, ad nasuem, to Matt's derogations and accusations. I feel that the give-and-take helps highlight the strengths of my argument, so that they are not lost in a miasmic cloud of babble, balderdash, baloney, blather, bombast, BS, bull, and bunk.MontyPS - Matt, I am sorely tempted to put your quote "You start tossin out logic to throw people off" in my signature, but I recognize that would be uncouth.
  10. Save the chips and gamble more as you approach the bubble, people will tighten up. Attack the middle stacks in position with solid hands, attack the big blind from the small, etc.If the situation was turned around in your post, if you had first action, you can push there and put the other guy to the decision. I understand the value of building up a big stack, but I think there is more value in building up that big stack as you approach the bubble so that you can get a solid cash, rather than gambling in this particular spot.The power of the bubble cannot be underestimated.
