  1. ...satisfies the following criteria?Hello all,I was wondering if I could pick your brains. Here goes! I'm looking for the best site that satisfies the following criteria:1. Limit Hold'em (2/4 to 10/20 Blinds) - I'm looking for a site where there is a high 10-seater game traffic. NL is the focus with some sites and has the most traffic, but I'm looking for a site that has a lot of Limit Hold'em players/tables.2. 1-on-1 - A site which has a 1-on-1 section (NL or Limit) which is popular with members. Some sites have 1-on-1 sections but not many of the members actually play them. So, a site with
  2. Hello all, I hope I'm not the only one with this problem. For those of you who have never read a post by me, I'll just quickly give you some background info. I am fortunately a winning player - great studier of the game, read the books, and believe I do know the game well; but I do know when to be humble about asking for advice :)Here goes: The problem I'm having is that I'll have 2 days of good poker, no bad beats, good cards, good play. THEN, I'll follow that with 2 days of horrible beats, tonnes of them!! I mean, the past 2 days, I've had AA and KK 10 times (yes, I get dealt my fair share)
  3. The most winning player online ever is 'erik123' or 'thesalmon' (ladbrokes name) - erik sagstrom, fact. However, I saw Prahlad Friedman playing Royal Vegas (prima) a.k.a 'thenizzles', a couple of weeks ago. Sat down at the 100/200NL table and was in for about 40K in about 30 mins. I kept an eye on the table and a few hours later he had got it up to 280K for a profit of roughly 240K! The next day he made a cool 80K. I often watch him play when he's online and he is definitely a cut above the rest. You'd think at that level they would just pass the money around with the button. But this guy is v
  4. Hello all, If any of you read Pokerpages, more specifically, the player profiles, you'll already be well aware of one of the questions -"What would you like to change about the world?"Well, I could take the saintly route and say, "world peace," but after a massive argument with my girlfriend, I now know what my absolute biggest pet-peeve is about the world outside of poker. Yes, you've all heard it before, but ignorant people who think poker is gambling!!! It drives me absolutely crazy. My girlfriend happens to be one of those irrefutably ignorant individuals who thinks I'm gambling every time
  5. Thank you all to those who have responded. I read every one and learnt a lot. Good luck!
  6. Hello all, I'm considering buying a new computer in the near future but I'm not all that knowledgeable on the subject. I currently have a dell laptop but have set up more permanent residence recently and would like to take advantage of the benefits of a desktop computer. This is where your knowledge comes in. Currently, I play a mixture of Paradise Poker, Prima Poker, and Ladbrokes. As you know two different platforms (software). Paradise Poker on my laptop is so quick, runs really smoothly, play as many tables as I want. However, if I play more than 2 tables on Prima or Ladbrokes (since they
  7. Hello All,I am a decently successful player and study the game A LOT! I love reading about the game, constantly trying to improve, and so am looking for an advanced strategy book. So I stumbled accross "No-Limit Texas Hold'em: The New Player's Guide to Winning Poker's Biggest Game," by Brad daugherty & Tom McEvoy while surfing online. Now, is this for the New player as it suggests? Or is it more advanced? I am looking for an advanced strategy book cause I'm getting a little tired of having to pay for a book with a few chapters that I'm not even going to read because it's for the beginner. O
