I know this forum has writers floating around, and have any of you given any thought to puting out a book of some sort which consist of tips, and advice given from forums? (with forum consent of course)I mean. ok., i know. sounds lame.. But i think a lot of the advice from the strategy section is very spot on!, and really does go deeper than simply reading books like SSHE and super systems.Perhaps a book which shows a break down of the types of players who post on these forums and what other players say about the hands. (the best stuff obviously)ex. you have a hand and some comments about the hand from other players and it would show their nick names and in brackets (aggressive) or (tight - aggressive) etc..so you get an idea that aggressive type of players approach it from this point., and yadda yadda.just a thought.. (patent pending) hahaha

Touche.I'm on my fifth reading of Play Poker Like the Fish right now though, so it will be a while before I get to any other material.

Better idea to have a paysite featuring some of the posters who advise here. Most of the advice is hand-by-hand, not so much an overall strategy. Of course, most of the requests here are "Did I play this right, here's the hand history..."?Some of the more successful players here *could* write an Online Poker strategy manual, but no one would buy it because they don't have an established name (it probably wouldn't even get picked up for publishing because no one cares what ajs510 says about online poker). Actually, no one *here* cares what I say, let alone in the outside world.Hey, I think I just flamed myself...

lol... i know.. u missed the point a little.. not a published book by a no name.think of it as a "anarchists cookbook" to poker. Hell. throw DN's face on the cover if they think it will help sell.

Royal, how about you print out all the tips on this site, copy them, and do a mass mailer. Maybe you could consult the Jehovahs. Maybe even go door to door giving out unsolicited poker advice. I suggest blue or black cotton dockers, white button down short sleeve shirt, clip on tie and a backpack. A Poker Jehova if you will. I'll move to Canada just to see you.

It'd be fun, but it'd be a bitch to organize... good lord. I have a hard enough time keeping up writing articles (I think PokerNews has given up on me, haha. Real world work is a bitch and I just can't get motivated sometimes).I think it would be cool to have a book that is basically a break-down of many many many hands with results and examples of a good play and a bad play. For instance, let's say the book is organized by starting hands. There's an AA section that covers a certain number of potential flops, such as a flop with high cards and 2 to a suit, a flop with this, a flop with that, and gives real-world examples of plays made by players, with analysis on why this play was wrong and why this play was 'correct'. Many chess books are written in this context. I've always thought it would be cool to have a poker book written in a similar context. Bottom line is, it will likely only be written if a pro or two is doing the 'commentary'. As much as I like the guys here, I don't think a lot of people will buy a book that says on the cover "Analysis by WRTO and Smash".
