Depends on who you talk to and what you have, but for a strong hand 3-4 times that big blind for openers. If you are in late position and have a strong hand and one BB for every limper. If you can't justify the bet, your hand is no good and fold...Not taking into account Pot Odd, Equality, and Implied Odds. :club: :D :D :D

Well, as always when it comes to NL, that depends on the situation and a bunch of different variables (stack sizes, blind level, position, # people in the pot, strength of your hand, your read on your opponents, if there are draws on the board, etc), One thing for sure though - It is almost never correct to only bet the minimum. By doing so you are giving any sort of drawing hand the correct pot odds to call, giving them an opportunity to draw out on your for cheap. I suggest reading a book or two dealing with the math aspect of the game to gain a better understanding of what you should bet, and when.Patrick

As just a gross answer without knowing any variables or situations you should bet anywhere from half the pot to a pot sized bet if you think you have the best hand or want to represent it.

I usually just use the minimum bet as a feeler bet to find out where I am in the hand... maybe I'm bottom pair & want to see who's hit something, who's drawing, etc.

I am of the never bet the minimum camp. In general I agree with pickles, pmjackson and shakes, m.d.Checking is a cheaper version of what Governator is describing.
