CobaltBlue 662
Bodog 5/10 NLHE (6-handed)Cobalt $3270CO $2413Cobalt is UTG w/ . My image is TAG and I've been running well. CO is a tricky LAG who I played with regularly months ago. If she has a spot to bluff, she'll take it, though she knows I've made some big calls on her in the past (not this session). She might be unhappy with me since I oversetted/stacked her earlier...though that was over an hour ago.Pre-flop:Cobalt raises to $35, 1 fold, CO calls, 3 foldsFlop ($85): :icon_dance: (2 players)Cobalt bets $55, CO raises to $170, Cobalt callsTurn ($425): (2 players)Cobalt checks, CO bets $289, Cobalt callsRiver ($1003): (2 players)Cobalt checks, CO bets $1000, Cobalt folds20 minutes later...Cobalt $2995Button $1883Cobalt is BB w/ . Still been playing TAG. Button is a regular that likes to open a lot of pots, but he doesn't show down much, so I've got him labeled as a competent (possibly tricky?) TAG.Pre-flop:3 folds, Button raises to $35, 1 fold, Cobalt raises to $115, Button callsFlop ($235): (2 players)Cobalt bets $125, Button callsTurn ($485): (2 players)Cobalt checks, Button bets $397, Cobalt callsRiver ($1279): (2 players)Cobalt checks, Button goes all-in for $1246, Cobalt callsAh...the difficulties of deep stacks. Comments on both hands (all streets) welcome.
Acid_Knight 2
I like them both, especially hand 2.
tskillz187 0
I like hand 1.I can't play like that on hand 2, I'm just too scared that he checks behind on the river. I probably crai on the turn if I get the bet. I think your play is better though, because he's really going to have a tough time stacking off with JJ or QQ if he doesn't think you're capable of bluffing.
Acid_Knight 2
Cobalt, when you orginally posted this, wasn't the 7 a diamond in hand 2, with the 4d completing the flush on the river?

mtdesmoines 3
Hand one is fine. Hand 2 I am CRAI on the turn if I'm calling any river.

A lot of the time, the villain is just outright bluffing here and we don't want to stop him from doing that. If we shove, he's likely gonna fold every hand that we beat.Against the right villains, on this river, I will make a faker blocker bet of like 1/4 of the pot because it almost ensures that they will bluff shove in a spot where they might have given up before just because your bet seems so weak. Sheiky 0
I don't get it, i'm sure i've posted a few hands a hell of a lot like the QQ hand and got told by everyone i was flat out wrong for not re-raising the flop...

There is also history between the hero and the villain.
simo_8ball 0
I don't get it, i'm sure i've posted a few hands a hell of a lot like the QQ hand and got told by everyone i was flat out wrong for not re-raising the flop...Making another raise on this kind of flop is horrible because:They fold all worse hands and they never fold better hands. If they make another raise, you've got to fold despite the fact that they could have a big draw.Remember we are 2.5 buyins deep here, and we do not like getting it all in on this flop. It is very draw heavy, so we are crushed or they are flipping with you. If the turn comes a diamond you beat very little of her range. If we were 60bb deep then shoving the flop would be fine. CobaltBlue 662
For what it's worth, villain in the second hand showed ...which obviously caused me to revise my notes somewhat.

CobaltBlue 662
I don't understand this game He's not just a donk...it was a significant amount of multi-level thinking (unless he was on tilt or something, but I don't think he was). He probably "knows" my range there...and knows that I know he knows...so therefore...I have to ask, "Why is he pushing?" Fortunately, I know he could be thinking that.
