  1. Thank you very much for the great advice. I will do as you suggested and let you know when I have read both books. Thanks!
  2. I am looking for a great book that focuses all about ONLINE no limit. I have decided to get serious about my poker and see if I can make a career out of it. Having said that, I have read a myriad of books (Super System, TOP, Phil Gordons Little Green Book) that are all great books on poker but they really dont give any insight about the online world. My ideal book would talk about the various sites, what they offer, various formats, ring v SNG's, Online Tells, etc. etc.It would also talk about some of the "essential" tools for the serious online player, like poker tracker and all its various op
  3. In Winning Low Limite Hold'em, by Lee Jones, he writes the following:"Remember, if you're going to check-raise with a draw, do it with a draw to the nuts.4"The footnote for 4 reads:In his seminal work, Hold'em Poker, David Sklansky wrote, "Never check-raise on the flop with a come hand if a pair shows." This is as good advice now as it was when I first read it many years ago, but that the time my ignorance of poker terminology made the sentence almost indecipherable to me.Forgive my ignorance, but this is also almost indecipherble to me now =)Could someone please translate what it is that Davi
  4. To the OP, I am a Real Estate Investor in Las Vegas and I sell all my homes with owner financing. Basically, if you have a small downpayment, usually between 10-15K, and you can afford the monthly payment of principal, interest, taxes, insurance and HOA's (yep, many areas have 2!), then you qualify. I dont pull credit or need job verification, etc.Beats the hell out of renting. For example, I have a Brand New Home in the NW that is 1608 Sq Ft. For $12K down and $2241 per month, you would own the house. This is not a lease option or a Rent to Own. I am selling you the house and carrying the enti
  5. Thanks for the feedback and concerns. I do appreciate your input greatly. For me, I have a couple of reasons for using a credit card. 1) I collect frequent flyer points on my United Card. I currently charge about $10K per month on this card and have almost 150K points atm.2) Privacy =) I have a shared bank account with my wife that I prefer to separate from my poker activity.3) Bonus Claiming: I plan on depositing $600 into Full Tilt to gain the full $600 bonus. It doesnt make sense to me to only deposit say, $100 and only get $100 bonus.Again, I thank you all for the feedback. The interest and
  6. Can anyone give me some advice as to how I can use a real (non debit) credit card to deposit about $1K to start a new bankroll? As I understand it, most credit card companies will reject any online poker sites. Can I use a credit card with Neteller or something similar? Thanks!
  7. I am relatively new here and often here Rakebake mentioned. I have searched and read a lot of posts that mention it but still dont have true clarity of how it works, which sites give it, etc, etc.Would someone please mind taking a second to explain in some detail this concept. Thanks in advance
  8. Is there a link or another post with your theory Smash?
  9. Perhaps you might consider there is a cultural difference. In Australia, we do not tip. Period. We go to a restaurant and the bill is $23.45, we pay $23.45.
  10. Well I decided to give the Wynn a try for the first time tonight. BAD MOVE. Obviously, being a Saturday night the place was super busy.Anyway, I put my name down for the 4/8 Limit and I was number 24 in the queue. 90 minutes later, I was number 20. Just plain rediculous, so I left and went home. This was of course at about 8:30pm on a Saturday night, probably no worse time to try it out.
  11. I have found this to be a great great post.Anyone else have any comments on the poker rooms in LV?I would love to hear some more thoughts about which are the softest games, etc.
  12. I was in a pot last night on Pacific Poker $30/$60 where the winner won $2770. He had flopped the nut straight and 2 other players flopped sets...
