Jamie Gold A Cheater?

Recommended Posts

does anyone watch the pro-am poker on espn. last sunday, the episode with madsen, george, shana hiatt, benyamine, gold and huck - the second or third hand, benyamine picks up JJ utg and as he is looking at his cards, i swear that jamie "f-in" gold leaned back a little in his chair and tried to look at benyamines cards as david was trying to look at them. david was trying to hide them pretty good and i dont think its a big deal if david wasnt hiding his cards and gold saw them from his chair sitting normal. but if i see anyone lean back in their chair and look down at someone elses cards, i dont care if it is the god of poker DB, i would call them out and never give them any respect again.also, another reason i thought he cheated on this hand is: everyone knows by now that jaime is super loose before the flop. his hand at the time was 74 off, which is usually a typical hand gold will play in an unopened pot but for some reason he folded to benyamine's JJ even though he limped and didnt raise. Gold a cheater????anyone notice this or have any comment on this?/

I noticed it and so did my TEN YEAR OLD brother. He actually mentioned it before I could.

I don't really have an opinion one way or the other, but using him folding 7-4 off as a reason perhaps he was cheating is a bit silly.

In all seriousness, if I had a chance to see what another guy was holding then I would take advantage of it. If the person doesn't want me looking at their cards then they should do a better job of hiding them.

Jamie Gold....Michael Jacksons long lost white twin. Anyone else notice a few peculiar similarity's?Next time take a good look at this guy. He's got this...weird, pasty, powdery white skin...just something really odd about it, almost cover up-esque, ala M J. And those eyes! Oh man those weird peepers! It looks like he's spent a good half hour or so applying mascara and eye liner! Just bizzarrro. And who the fugg eats a bowl full of dry blueberry's with a spoon? lmao. He's just sooooo damn odd and annoying. I know this is horribly shallow and mean and everything else, but I just can't help it. WSOP ME champ or not, I just really do not like this guy. :club:

What is worse is that he eats the blueberries with a FORK!

Gold has handled himself better lately in the media. He might have good marketing consultants or his father's death made him grow up, but he's coming off as much more humble and less of a douchebag than what we saw during the main event television exposure; during the main event, I think he was a little crazy--maybe in over his head, running, perhaps too well, in many ways manic--and also unfamiliar with professional gambler's unspoken rules.Time will tell if he has any real game, but I think he's minimized some of his douchebag status. As far as cheating by peaking at whole cards on national television? No. Too much projection there. Tangentially, Shana was lookin' as fine as ever in that show though.

If Jamie Gold knew that Seed had JJ, shouldn't he call the raise with 7-4, or any 2 cards for that matter? Any A,K or Q on the flop are scare cards and knowing precisely what Seed had, he could easily represent any one of those overcards if they do flop. Also, he could get a lucky flop that actually connects with his hand. Having precise knowledge of Seed's hand makes his upside really big and therefore, he should call. Of course, this is dependent on Gold's position and the relative stack sizes at that time as well.

Great upper level thinking. Please don't tell me you believe Jamie Gold thinks that far ahead. He plays his cards and that's about it.

Seems like a whole lot of jealousy goin on. :club:
Nope. Funny thing is I really don't totally hate the way he plays. I dislike the way he acts. And Blueberries. I REAALLLLLLY hate Blueberries! However, if he ever loses his affinity for mascara I'll invite him back into my heart. :D

If you really believe that then I hope you didn't watch any of the 2006 ME broadcast... because those episodes would prove you 100% wrong. He played the player in many spots... and he played them well. I mean, min-check-raising w/ 5 high on a K J K board? Yeah, he's playing his cards, alright.. It seemed that he screwed up a few times when he actually had a good hand. Otherwise, he played the aggro-donk style to perfection, IMO. He's still a douchebag though, but the reigning world champion of poker-douchebag.

I think its a shame that we go from a like-able everyman like Moneymaker to solid player like Ramer and then to a cool as **** dude like Joe Hachem, only to end up with a ******* scumbag like Gold. The guy WOULD cheat he is a HOLLYWOOD producer. His antics remind me of Andy Kaufman, only Kaufman was satire, this is his REAL personality.
Give him his due for the rest of his reign; he'll disappear from the poker world soon enough. Anyone seen Robert Varkonyi lately? When people conjure stereotypical images of a slick Hollywood ethnic type....enter Jamie Gold.
