I know freerolls don't mean much, but it was the first time I'd ever played, or read the rules to, badugi. And I won a seat to the weekly round two! :club: 24 out of 5000+ is still kinda satisfying as is spending most of it in the top 50.Yeah, total brag post.PokerStars Tournament #305344943, Pot Limit BadugiFreeroll Super Satellite5677 playersTarget Tournament #30534190164 tickets to the target tournamentTournament started 2010/09/03 20:42:00 ETDear kolman36,You finished the tournament in 24th place. This qualifies you for a seat in Tournament #305341901. Lol.The first hand I played I got Ah 2c 3c 4s and couldn't figure out why I lost to QJ84 rainbow.I'm curious how tough this game is when you're playing for money. Because, after an hour, I felt like I was better than 90% of the players....or I was running like the sun.

Yea, it's relatively hard to tell the skill level between a freeroll and something in the lower buyin range in the same game. When you're playing a game you aren't used to and maybe have never even played before, your frame of reference is skewed by your inexperience. Badugi is a different game and requires more bluffing and more knowing the odds than holdem. When someone is drawing 2 or 3, you need to ask yourself, what are they drawing TO? This will give you a better idea of knowing where you should want to end up or gamble on them missing their draw. While freerolls are generally "softer" than your average run of the mill tournament, when you are taking a shot at a game like badugi, I feel as if there's going to be a narrower range of skill between 2 random competitors than the popular Hubble NLHE freerolls. It is good to be confident about your game compared to theirs for sure as it will build confidence and hopefully get you to the next step but beware of being cocky because you will face some rough times ahead should you decide to join a tournament with a standard buyin+fee.Congrats though
