  1. The call was all right but I really enjoyed the reference to a great Soviet hockey player of KLM line fame. Vladimir Krutov, the best Soviet on the 1987 Canada Cup series. That part was funny.
  2. I played in the 1000 circuit event at Harrah's a couple months ago and there was about 250 people entered. That was on a Friday.2000 starting chips1 hour levels25/25 to start I think I'm going on Friday for the 1000 donation.I don't know if the structure will be the same for these tournaments
  3. I think Dale Hawerchuck was on the line with them in the 87 cup. 3 great games with USSR. Fetisov, Kasatonov, Bykov, Kamensky, Lomakin, Makarov, Larionov, Krutov, Balderis, Nemchinov - anyone remember others from that team?Gretzky, Messier, Lemieux, D. Savard, Hawerchuck, Anderson, Coffey, J. Patrick, Bourque, Fuhr, Propp, L. Murphy, Gartner, Tocchet, Goulet, Gilmour... man o man - so many great players
  4. Maybe. However, in the early nineties when the Rangers were good, they were big in NY but on a national (USA) level, the NHL was still a blip on the radar screen. The US national TV ratings were still terrible and only did well in certain cities in North America.
  5. digitalmonkey is correct, if you don't play hockey when you're a kid, you're less likely to enjoy it later on in life because the speed and level of play will not be appreciated. Also, hockey is part of Canada, like soccer is to most of the world. There are so many other choices for pro sports in the US, usually played (not very well) by most of the US population in their youth.
  6. Poti has been sat twice already and isn't getting major minutes with the Rangers. Unless he's used mostly on the power play, he shouldn't be near the olympic team.
  7. Ollie JokennenRick TocchetOld school -- Rocky Saganuck
  8. George: "I was just swimming!!!"shrinkage
  9. Who's Bill Fillmaff? That's like saying who's Doyle BrunsonHe has 11 pearl necklaces for pete's sake!!!!
  10. Anyone in the northeast planning on playing in the NE poker classic at Foxwoods in a couple weeks. I'm playing in the NL hold'em on Monday April 4 (and hopefully Tues. April 5!!!)
  11. U2, Van Halen (only the old stuff), The Pogues, Green Day, Mescaleros, The Who, Radiohead, Billy Joel, Springsteen, Beastie Boys. These groups dominate my poker ipod mix.
  12. This may be dumb, but I say fold. If the 650 was BB and I was SB, I would raise the min. In the quiz situation, the BB should be looking for an excuse to call and if he has any type of drawing hand, he'd call and then I'd be looking at a lousy A7(overrated) which can't be too much of a favorite. You have 4 hands until the blinds reach you again. I think fold, but I play too weak sometimes.
