more proof that idiotic players get a reprieve

Recommended Posts

I was playing in the afternoon freeroll on Full Tilt this afternoon when the following hand came up. I was dealt pocket K's with 1980 in chips and the blinds were 40/80.I'm sitting in the big blind with pocket K's and everyone either folds or limps in until it comes around to me. I raise 250 (tad above 3 times the big blind), the UTG folds, the next player comes over the top and puts me all in, and everyone else folds around to me. The guy that put me all in had been playing extremely recklessly, moving all in pre-flop with ANY pocket pair, or ANY hand that had a face card in it. So when he put me all in, and based on his play throughout the freeroll I was pretty sure that he didn't have a stellar hand. We turned the cards over and I was right...he was holding A-3 offsuited. The flop came A,2,3 rainbow giving him two pair. The turn and the river were blanks. So this guy continued on with his reckless abandon and kept getting lucky doing. I didn't stick around to see where he finished. More proof that God protects people who make stupid moves.

Raise more preflop. Add an extra BB for each limper...

It wouldn't have mattered how much I would have raised, he was calling anything and everything he could as long as he had a face card or any pocket pair. I wasn't the first person he busted. I saw him call all in preflop with 6-6 against A-A just to suck out a 6 on the river to bust the guy. He was making stupid play after stupid play and busting some pretty good players. He did about almost all of his play before the flop

It doesn't matter would would have happened with this guy, this time. There are certain principles that you should follow no matter what the situation. There's no argument for not raising at least 4-5x BB in this situation.EDIT: If you absolutely knew it would incite an all-in reraise, then a small raise could be justified.

I stopped reading after this. There is no explaining anyone's play in a freeroll. You get what you get.

I probably woulda called too if this was a freerolllin a free roll you better do one of 2 things, get a lot of chips early or get knocked out, no one wants to sit at a computer for 4 hours and get nothing outta a freeroll because the finished 11A3-30%KK-70%^^^Thats proof that bad plays dont get reprieve

Freeroll, nuff said.Had 27000 in chips, didn't play a hand for 45 minutes(this guy saw it) got pocket kings, ended up all in guy with 23,000 shows up 33. He gets a club flush on the river and goes on to say "wow, it amazes how many people undervalue a small pocket pair."
