Actually, Daniel did respond to this. His post is in the other link (though the OP didn't realize it and cuddlemonkey has already quoted him). I think the concern of some people is, aside from Daniel answering in a thread, there have been no responses to e-mail from admin or Travis or who ever is in charge of free stuff. (I have no idea who that would be, Santa?)

But, I didn't say they should be censored for joking, I said they shouldn't joke about banning someone. With responsibility comes the fact that you will sometimes have to edit yourself. Anyone with a position of authority can't just spew out every thought they have.

Pupsta, my only point is that censorship is wrong. I didn't participate in the other thread, but if it was harmless then what's the problem? I see a lot more threads locked than I used to...hence my saying that they are abusing their power. Custom 36 saying:"I'd ban you if you didn't tell me that you won't accept bad beats."isn't funny. I Mod should NEVER JOKE about banning someone, it tells the rest of the forum that we can't express ourselves for fear of being banned.edit: Power corrupts and absolute power....

I suppose all that I have to offer is a question, is chat that important to you? I understand you not wanting to be misunderstood or mis-quoted, or having your words not taken for what they were meant to be: but... I think this is the point of being a "Charter Member". This forum is just about a year old (from what I understand, I didn't sign up till Feb) and people need to look at the long term. When the Forum is five, ten years old, then being a "Charter Member" will, at the very minimum, be a sign of recognition. Also, while there are a TON of people listed as members right now, I don't believe the majority of this sites "hits" are from them. The hits are from the regular posters (or lurkers in my case) who come to the Forum daily (or twice, three times a day. What can I say? I'm addicted.) Anyway
