basic shorthanded limit strategy

Recommended Posts

recently i have begun playing low limit shorthanded games of four or less players and i have noticed that i have a less than basic idea of what to play preflop. What hands should i be playing, passing, and raising pf in a low limit game where you will almost never pick up the blinds with a raise?Ive read SSHE and it says if its good to play its good to raise shorthanded, but does this apply to these games?Basically im asking how i should play hands such as suited connectors, low pp, ax and kx s/off, q9- qj s/off, 10j and other high unsuited connectors, and k10 s/off preflop in these low limit shorthanded games. Also, what should my flop seen percentage be in these games? I am usually around 25-30%. Is this too tight?

High card hands like QJo go up in value, speculative hands like 67s become almost worthless, low pocket pairs and AK can be shown down more often.Raise what you'd raise with on the button if it was limped to you 10 handed. 4 Handed you could add A9o/JTo/QTo etc to your hand mix. Raise any hand you'd play if you're on the button.Good luck.Oh, defend your blind and three-bet AT-AJ and 77-AA to a raise.
