  1. Everything in this story is true. I wasn't questioning my play, which is me calling. This hand has just always stuck out in my mind and was wondering what people on this forum would do in the same situation. At the time the hand happened, people at the table gave me mixed answers in regards to calling in that spot. Something reminded me of this hand and I wanted to bring it up here and see what people thought. If I lost the hand I don't think I would of regretted it. Just see it as bad luck and so forth.I said something to the effect of I really can't call here (which doesn't mean I fold), a l
  2. It's not really difficult knowing what he had. It still for some reason made me a little uneasy when calling. I only took maybe 30 seconds, maybe even less to call once I saw what he had. I don't know why, wasn't so much the money per say, i just felt in the pit of my stomach he would hit and win. Like how many times you have a big pocket pair and when you're about to see the flop your like "no ace no ace no ace" and you see an ace. Same thing here.
  3. No I don't. AA maybe, but why lose all the money he could get from me to just pick up 200 bucks? If he puts me on a big hand and thinking I don't have Aces since he has them he loses too much money here, but going all in, not knowing if I will call or fold.KK I don't see him doing this either. I did re raise 75 more. I could easily have Aces here. I can see him re raising me, but not 900 more. He is more likely to raise small, to get the other callers out or smooth call. QQ is the same as KK above, except beside Aces and I now can have Kings. He was playing wild all night. Any raise by him PF
  4. Well I don't need a set to win unless he hits his card. But yes you are hoping the board bricks out.
  5. While I really didn't want to call, but I did. He spiked a king on the flop. Flop was K 10 7. Turn 9. River 8.I was kind of sick on the flop, but I did expect it. The turn gave me a lot of outs and I actually thought I would hit on the river. Before the river card was dealt I told the dealer I'd give him 4 green chips ($100) if he put my card out there and he did.
  6. I understand that you are favored and you have to call. In a tournament I don't see how you can fold this. Maybe if you are on the bubble? Even so you have to call. This is a cash game here. I'm risking 3 buy ins here on this call. Let's say you are playing a higher stakes cash game. Are you going to risk 5k or 15k or even more on JJ vs AK Pre Flop ?It's an easy call just playing the hand. When you factor in the amount of money you are risking in regards to the buy in or just what the money means to you personally do you still call? This is what I am looking for, not whether or not if the corre
  7. No one else was in the hand. He is first to act, made it 25, 4 people call I make it 100, he goes all in, people fold to me. Like I said in my original post.
  8. I never tip that much. Any pot 1-2 bucks. Even I am friendly with the dealer (a decent amount of them I am), I may tip more then 1-2 bucks. If the pot is like 500+ I might tip 3-4 bucks, maybe less. If I like the dealer 5 bucks. It Really depends on the dealer, but I really don't over tip. This is a 2,100 pot, I like the dealer, and I did say if he doubled me up I'd tip him a couple 25 chips. If I didn't like the dealer or whatever I would tip under 25. I've won pots of 1,500 and tipped 2 bucks before. Just depends on the dealer. If they are good dealers or if I am friends with them and I win
  9. Well i did tell the dealer "green birds"... So at least 50 I would of tipped. But for a 2,100 pot and since I like the dealer a lot and we can talk at the table or if he goes on breaks I would of tipped at least 75-100. Any other dealer 25.
  10. That is true. There were 4 other callers as well, for the original 25. Really don't remember if any of them were lose or tight players... But you figure maybe someone else had AK, KQ, AQ, etc...
  11. Yes, that is basically what he wanted to happen. I think in this case showing or not showing results in me wanting to fold either way. Perhaps showing me makes me fold faster rather then someone eventually calling the clock on me.
  12. I don't remember the suits of either. I also didn't mention if I folded or called. Just looking for peoples opinions, before I say the out come.
  13. I agree I shouldn't fold. 1-2 NL is the lowest is goes in AC. I play 1-2 NL and 2-5 NL regularly and have a few times played 5-10 NL. I'm not exactly worried about losing 700 profit for a night, because I can make that back at that same table or another day. I've lost more on a hand before and ave won way more as well. While 700 profit is nothing to joke about of course, anytime you have made over two buy ins, losing it can hurt a bit. In a tournament I would insta call if I knew what he had. Just cash game is completely different mind set.
  14. Well when the hand came into play i had already been playing 8-10 hours. The hand was around 5 am and would I of played till 10am or so, as I usually do. If I had lost the hand I would of had more money to buy in, but probably would of been sick and went home or donked a few hundred at a slot machine or something.
  15. How much money would you race for even if you are slightly ahead? Here is what happened to me last year. Playing a 1-2 NL game live (Caesars AC). Max buy in is 300, which is what I bought in for. We are playing 10 handed, I start the hand with about 1,000 and the villain has more then that, maybe 1,700 or so. There are various other stack sizes at the table, but they don't come into play.A new dealer had sat down that I was friendly with. I really hadn't won anything significant in a while and was getting bored so when the dealer sat down I said double me up and I'll throw you some green birds
