  1. I would love to see him write a murder mystery novel. Haha. Actually I would be interested if he wrote a NL Hold Em Tourney book...
  2. I used to wear these hideous looking sunglasses that looked like the ones off of ghostbusters. I would always stare at a buddy of mine if I was in a hand, didn't matter if he was or wasn't playing this one. After about 2 hours one night he couldn't take it anymore and paid a guy 10 bucks to trade him seats.
  3. koolromeo, I just play cards man. I guess you could say my only real strategy is to win. I play the higher priced games in order to avoid the fish, then I try to play smart, sound poker.
  4. I consistently win online. I profit well and sure I have hot and cold streaks, but am up enough that it doesn't bother me when I don't cashout for a couple of days.
  5. Daniel, about the Tunica trip. I'm not far from Tunica and thought about driving up there for a couple of days and watching. Then I remembered that since I'm not 21 I probably couldn't even get in to watch, this is correct isn't it?
  6. Good points everyone. A couple of points. I have known the guy for a while now, we have exchanged emails and chatted on instant messenger some and played against each other some. I have just emailed him though and told him that though I feel like I know him, I am not going to loan him money. If he is desparately in that bad of a bind he needs to contact family members and close friends. I wouldn't be helping him.
  7. Never hesitate to take a break. You and only you can be completely honest with how your game is going right now. If you are honest with yourself and find taht you are not playing well at all or just catching bad cards don't hesitate to take a break. I have had friends tell me that they took 2-3 month breaks and came back to the game refreshed and found that they haven't forgotten as much as they might think they had. In fact, I would recommend a break to Daniel. (if he can find one in his schedule) I'm sure he can't though because he's chasing that Player of the Year Award.
  8. I agree with both sides on this issue. I remember back when my friends and I would get our paychecks from work and TRY to find 8-10 guys to have a $20 buy-in tournament. Now that I have been having good success on $200 SitNGo's on the net, these $20 things bore me quite frankly. I thought I would never get this way, but it happens. Now that I am like this, my friends understand where I come from, but I always try my hardest against them because I understand that this is their main event. They only get to play these $20 things once or twice every two weeks, whereas I'm playing as many as 10 $20
  9. Ok, I imagine as many of us post on here or read the board at least that we all know our fair share of people with gambling problems, we might even have one ourselves. Here's what I'm getting at: I have been having success on the net for a while now. I'm not of age to play in casinos yet, but have been doing well on the net. Today as I was finishing up a SitnGo I had a guy ask me if I could loan him $100 due to the fact that he had lost quite a bit the night before. I have a soft spot for people in a bind, but I also believe that you have to know when to quit. I think that I will loan him the
  10. I am Seymour555 on PP. You'll normally find me in the SnG's.
  11. I try to take everything like a gentleman. If someone busts me by catching their gut-shot on the river, I normally make a comment like, "Do you call an all-in often with nothing but a gut shot?" I don't try to pick fights or get everyone riled up, I'm just real competitive and hate it when I get busted by a huge underdog who shouldn't have been in the hand. If I have pocket K's and lose to pocket Q's I'm not mad, they had a good hand and probably assumed they had the best hand when they called on the turn or river, but it's those gut-shots and flush draws that rile me up inside.
  12. So running up a pot is shady? But you and your friend telling each other your hands isn't shady? I disagree man. I would never sit at a table with someone like you.
  13. I like to talk. Especially if its my home game with the same 8-10 guys. We ham it up and talk and criticize and everything. Normally the losers convince those in the money to buy breakfast when we are done. It's an enjoyable time and everyone talks. Whenever I play in a bigger tournament with a lot of people I don't know I'm more quiet. However, I will talk whenever people get out of their initial shell. I'm not a trash talker or belittler like an Arieh or Matusow, but I talk and find other ways to get into people's heads.
  14. To me nothing beats playing until 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning and then heading over to the Waffle House and THEN retiring to bed around 6:45 or 7:00.
