BeaverStyle 1
Villain is 28/20 over 25 hands... so no real reads. Seems rather competent. Zach6668 513
Is this never an 8?
BeaverStyle 1
Is this never an 8?I mean, with a lot of micro players, it could be... But I don't think an 8 would 3-bet the river here w/ a possibly flush and higher straight.
Zach6668 513
Yeah, I agree, but it only has to be an 8, or Q8 30.1% of the time. I dunno if it is, just putting it out there.

I just feel that w/ such a large river 3-bet, he's not afraid of the backdoor flush, which leads me to believe he has it. Maybe I'm giving to much credit to micro players. I think it's pretty close, but at that stake, I really think calling is a long term profit. Maybe not by a whole lot, but profit. I think Q8 would often 3 bet this hand, and I think at this level you will even find a lot of corrupted hands that people were "slowplaying", and since they slowplayed it, they feel obligated to 3-bet, even if their trips got a lot weaker, etc. And I think it's safe to say that 15-20% of the time the 3 bettor ends up holding an 8 like a goon.I dunno, just my thought.....then again with any sort of read on the guy, a fold is just as easy. SCS 0
I think betting the flop is better than betting the turn. I think you aren't representing anything by checking the flop and betting the turn, except exactly what you hold. Not that anyone is going to notice at this level.River is close, but I'd probably call.
