Money022 0
Not much in terms of reads on the villian but I 3-bet him a few hands earlier with ATos. He folded after opening with a standard raise and a shortstack in between us moved in so the villian was able to see that I 3-bet him with ATos OOP. Here's that hand.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (4 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Hero ($99)BB ($36.35)UTG ($101)Button ($20.90)Preflop: Hero is SB with T, A. UTG raises to $4, Button calls $4, Hero raises to $16, 1 fold, UTG folds, Button raises to $20.9, Hero calls $4.90.Flop: ($46.80) 4, J, K(2 players)Turn: ($46.80) 8(2 players)River: ($46.80) 3(2 players)Final Pot: $46.80Hero has Tc As (high card, ace). Button has Jc Ad (one pair, jacks). Outcome: Button wins $46.80.So here's the hand in question. Same scenario, sort of. The villian, UTG from the previous hand, opens for $4 and I 3-bet him with AJs this time. He almost immediately shoves his full stack into the middle. I'm confident this isn't a big pair so at worse I'm facing a larger ace. Couple that with the fact he's seen me 3-bet him a few hands earlier with ATos. What's his range and can I ever call here?PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (4 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Hero ($101)BB ($38.90)UTG ($97.85)Button ($42.80)Preflop: Hero is SB with J, A. UTG raises to $4, 1 fold, Hero raises to $13, 1 fold, UTG raises to $97.85, Hero ???
d0c 0
Why do you keep raising UTG raiser with crappy hands OOP?I'd call this AI with JJ+, AK
kung fu 0
You've been caught out. When being tricky back-fires and you have quite likely been tricked. The raise is too great to call. Agree with JJ+ or AK.
Money022 0
Why do you keep raising UTG raiser with crappy hands OOP?AT and AJ are strong hands when playing 4 handed.
d0c 0
I'm probably a nit, but I wouldn't 3bet ATo 4 handed OOP without reads. AJs is a probably strong enough against unknown.

David_Nicoson 1
If he called it cut-off instead of UTG, would y'all still hate the 3-bet?It's still a fold to the push, but the 3-bet is solid, imho.
DonkSlayer 1
I hate the first hand; if everyone involved had full stacks I might be OK with it, but with 2 shorties involved, A10o is nowhere near strong enough.2nd hand, I think 3-betting is fine, but the push causes us a snapfold. I think you're realizing it's probably close and you might see a coinflip a lot, but that doesn't justify you calling the massive reraise.

I think you're realizing it's probably close and you might see a coinflip a lot, but that doesn't justify you calling the massive reraise.I too feel the second hand with AJs is a fold. The reason I brought it up was I thought the villian may be attempting to steal the pot preflop with a wider range since he just saw I was 3-betting him with ATos in a previous hand. Which may put in hands like any two face cards and small pairs. Even so, I'm either slightly behind or a bit of a favorite against the obvious holdings he may have like big pairs and AK/AQ.The other noteworthy thing, which I didn't mention before, was that this was at a newly started full ring table. Generally the players sitting in on these hands are waiting for the table to fill and aren't very strong short handed and usually fold to 3-bets in spots like these. Of course that makes calling a shove make less sense more often than not and calling contradicts most of what I said. I just wondered if showing down ATos a few hands before would make UTG try to get fancy. As for my decision in hand two, I actually made a loose call and got lucky against his AQos on a J high flop that held.
