would you have made this move this early in the tourney ???Chip Jett pushes all in on the river with the board showing Qh-9s-7c-2c-6s. Danny Shiff goes into the tank, and finally makes the call. Jett flips over 2-2 for a set of deuces, but Shiff shows 9-9 for a set of nines. Chip Jett has been eliminated early on day one in a set over set situation.

Erm...no, but then again, I'm rather certain that Chip Jett is a slightly better player than I am at all times.

So a known "bad, loose, wild player" calls pre flop with pocket 2's (Party style) doubles DN's bet post flop having hit his set - N.B. - which is called on a low flop. He low bets, (at these limits), the turn (a high card [possibly having put DN on high pair or AK, as a position bet]) but is only called. I'm guessing Dn was on AK and the river was a 10 or something else with little impact but we've not been given these details - flame away but with that info it seems the BLW player played it just right and trapped DN nicely.....

Would have been pretty funny if these two entries were in the reverse order... :club:

According to Phil Gordon, set over set happens about one time in a hundred that you have a set. The board isn't paired, there is a possible straight and no flush possible. The only real thing Jett can wory about is the straight, which isn't there. We don't know the preflop action, but maybe Chip knew the straight wasn't made. If he thought the other guys had TPTK or 2 pair it is a perfect time to push. He may get a call and double up. Remember- He pushed with a set, not called. Bad result, good play in my opinion.
