Don't forget in that example there is another desperate short stack with less chips than you have who has already folded. His point is that you're really playing against that short stack, not the big, bully stack pushing you around. Winning that hand with the TT and doubling up doesn't gain enough equity to take the chance. You're better off waiting until you're able to open a pot.The other examples have smaller stacks at your table but an equal or larger stack raising all your chips. He's saying you should play to get in the money and play against the small stacks.

I think the only way you're getting away is if you bet on the flop and he raised pretty big. If I was holding that 4 I'd put a solid raise out there.

I've actually gone from 31.36% DOWN to 26.87%. i clearly have a good read on own game............You think that change is enough to make a difference? looking at month to month, I only make money if I finish ITM 40%+. I'm sitting around 36% during my little losing streak.

How about pushing with hands that aren't dominated so easily? A2-A8 don't do me a whole lot of good, usually, because people really really really like calling with an Ace in their hand. Maybe I should forget low Aces and push with connectors (I already do if they're suited). Even Kings and Queens seem like they'd do better. I mean K6, Q6 and A6 are the same odds against 55 or 77, but quite a bit different against a higher A, right?

Breaking even over the first 7 rounds (36 minutes) lands you at an M of 9. You're pretty committed with any raise you put out there at that point.

Fold. His all-in is a good move. AQ is a terrible calling hand. What are you hoping he has? AJ or A10? KQ? AK is only good for a raise because a lot of the time the worst case is a coin toss. AQ is a good step below that. You can wait for a better chance.

this is the crap i always end up losing on. If someone else had posted this I would have said the pre-flop mini was a mistake. I know this. But there I am in the situation and think, "I'll just do it this once ... it'll be fine ... I'll pick up the blinds." and i'm out of the tournament.
