heartland poker tour

Recommended Posts

So I am flipping through channels, and I notice a poker show on Comcast called the "Heartland Poker Tour". The coverage is pretty 2nd rate, but I might be interested in playing in some of these events. The website is Heartlandpokertour.com, if any midwesterners want to check it out. Does anyone know anything about this tour??

Nobody has heard about this???
Sounds like something we used to have here all the time in Southern California. It was the Southern california Poker Tour and they'd hit up all the big casinos in the southland here. T he coverage and everything was real third rate, but it was still cool to see locals on tv competing for fairly big cash prizes. I think they got in trouble withthe World Poker Tour though. I think it may be a company that just does regional poker championship things.

The next event is October 28-30 in Minnesota...$250 buy-in....lets hit it up

I just looked it up, it's at 7 clans which is about an hour north of me give or take a few. You're in chicago, that's a long ass drive to here for a $250 buyin event, I guarantee the side games aren't even good so if that's another reason to play in it your only option is Canterbury in the cities.

Wow 720 miles...Fu.ck that. This Heartland Tour should start some events in the midwest area.I've been itching to play live tourneys, but the ones they hold at river boats in Chicago are so worthless At Trump they start you with 400 chips and blinds start at 10-25. There are rebuys and add-ons first hour, but it is the worst run tournament ever. Resorts isn't much better.Maybe I'll just head down to Caesar's Indiana and take a shot at the WSOP Circuit event....

Right outside of Des Moines, in Altoona (5 miles east of Des Moines), they have three weekly tournaments that are pretty decent. The buyin's range from 35-100 + the house's take. The 35 they given you 1000 in start chips, blinds start at 10-20. 75 they give you 1,500 in chips, blinds start at 10-20. 100 they give you 2,000 and the blinds start at 10-20. There's usually a 100+ entries for each tournament, so the prize pools, moreso for the 100 dollar buy in, are pretty decent. The fields are really weak, and the blinds move fairly quickly, but you can hit the payout pretty easily. Not necessarily saying they're worth a trip from Chicago, but, if you're in the area.

These tourneys are OK, ive played in the first two, structure is kinda quick and its a cest pool of fish so you have to get hands AND avoid bad beats, they don't fold, so you won't be able to bluff, not bad for the price tho.
