Jordan 1
not called the raise w/ A5o.not min raised the flop.not check the turn.not min raise the river.stake me?;)Unlucky yes...but you misplayed it..as you know you did. Avoid min raising..no matter what limit you play. Atleast, that's what I think.- Jordanedit -- is this fun money? no offense...i just saw someone sitting with 17k at a 1k buy in game...curious..cuz then this all makes sense. Zach6668 513
Imho the guy was a bit of a jerk for calling with pocket 4s after I raised him on the flop, and very lucky to make his full house on the river. After that I was on serious tilt. Went all-in for ~$250 on JJ (4 calls), made 3 of a kind but lost out to 2 straights.Anyway, what should I have done differently on this hand?Umm... he's a jerk who's giving you money. And stop min-raising. AceyDeucy 0
From AceyDeucy's Laws of Strat Forum answers:Sixth Law:"High profitability" cuts both ways. If you slowplay to win a huge pot, you may assist a suckout and lose this huge pot. This is called variance. If you want to swing for the fences you must accept it. If you don't like getting outdrawn, don't slowplay. If you do slowplay, don't complain when you do get outdrawn. You slowplayed this hand and got sucked out on. How do I know you slowplayed it? Glad you asked. At no point in time did you make a bet that ANY hand could fold to. Just check the pot odds on everyone's calls. The worst pot odds you gave anyone was 4.5-to-1 (on the very first caller). The next caller was getting 5.5-to-1. At these odds, you could reasonably call with the joker and the cut card.By not betting with authority, you allowed everyone to chase. I don't HATE the minraise on the flop, because you are building a nice pot here. I absolutely hate the check on the turn, though. The correct move here is to bet no less than half the pot, preferably the whole pot or slightly more. The raise on the river is all right, but honestly, it is really low value, since the vast majority of the hadns that give you action will have you beat.
FullMontyM1 0
The turn is definetly the death of your hand. You've got to bet big there. Big enough to knock out anyone that doesn't want to be giving you all of their chips in exchange for a few outs.Monty

iggymcfly 0
That does make way more sense now. I was wondering why the hell hero would make the awful call PF or raise the flop with trips no kicker in a 5/10 game. Making bad beat posts about play money games is -EV.
