Bankroll Considerations For 180 Man Turbo's?

Recommended Posts

Found these gems about a month back and have made some decent money. I am looking to make a withdrawal soon but want to leave a full bankroll on to continue to grind them. I have heard before that a good roll for 180's is about 100 buy ins but with increased variance in turbo's should I adjust that higher? I was thinking about having 125 buy ins do you think this is enough?TY

From what I know for tournaments it depends on your style and if your surviving off this income or not. I've seen 100 buy-ins recommended if its your only source of income...if not 40-50 is probably ok. You can surely adjust that upward for turbos because of the variance. Other people might tell you otherwise, I just read those approximate numbers on a site a while back and it made sense to me. Personally I'd avoid turbos I hate them...for tourny's the slower the structure the better for me but I play a very small-ball tourny style.

Its deffinatly not a source of income just a way to get some nice extras in life. Having said that I am very disciplined when it comes to BR and dont wont to go broke. I havent made a deposit since 2006 and never want to again. I hear you on the turbo vs non turbo but I have limited free time and if I am to put volume in turbos are a must. when I used to grind non turbos they would take upwards of 4 hours but these take around 1 hour and 45 minutes. If I get 3 hours to play I can easily play 12-15 while 4 tabling over that time.

Well if thats the case, and you're playing around 4 tables at once, I'd want to leave myself with about 60+ buy-ins in the bankroll, more if you are that adamant about never wanting to deposit again. GL!

More is always better when it comes to mtts, especially turbo ones. I would want 100+ if I were going to be grinding these.

I used to play a lot and my biggest downswing was around 120 Buy ins ( at $12 and $36 level). I don't play them any more since the variance is disgusting. I'd say 150 buy ins, 200 to be comfortable. You can probably get away with less playing the $2.20s

jesus, a 120 buy in downswing? Did you do any maths to see how unlikely that is? I would say 100 buy-ins is safe (personally, I'm going to start with $1200 and wanna multi-table the $12s)

It might not be all that unlikely considering the volume he puts in. The variance in turbo mtts is ridic big.I've had single table turbo sit n go players tell me that they keep 100+ buy ins.

Yea anything up and around the 100 buy in mark isn't unusual for 180 turbos. I think mixing in the 36s hurt b/c those are a lot tougher than the 12s.Went on some shit hot streaks too. Once I won 2 12s in a 5 minute span (in a session of 8) and won a 36 a couple of days later.I'd have a graph but my friends sharkscope subs ran out :club:.

200 buy-ins is not unreasonable if you're playing $12s and higher. the competent players tend to filter down to the endgame where not many mistakes are made. so yes, edges are quite small.

You only have win one game in every 45 to make a profit. Sounds easy doesn't it? Try it lol.100 buy ins should be fine playing upto 4 tables at a time. If your a serial multi tabler then I think we need more.

I think I won about 10 $12s and 1 $36 over a 600 game sample. In the last 300 or so I've won none ...I kinda quit playing them 3 months ago since the grind is gruesome. I did play 4 $36s today and regretted it afterward.
