  1. Just to start out, I've read some Sklansky and SS2's Limit Holdem section, so I'm not completely ignorant of standard limit play, but I'm not as experienced as many of you here. What I'm wondering is how I should adapt that strategy to fit in a 2-5 spread limit game? (Blinds are $1, $2, and bets and raises are anywhere from $2-5 on all streets)
  2. I know I need to study, and usually my playing doesn't cause my studying to suffer as I am a full time student (no job). I don't live with my parents, but my wife would be pissed if I failed the class The test went wellI've only got one more semester left, it's just that after like 15 years of going to school I'm ready to be done. I'm with foulky, It's hard to stay motivated! Thanks guys I kinda needed a kick in the *** right there.
  3. Is it a problem if instead of sleeping or studying the night before finals I've been playing poker all night? I think not because:1. I've been winning2. The final is at 7:30 in the morning! That's closer to bedtime than mwake up time anyway3. I think I know it anyway...
  4. Step 1: Go to the liquor storeStep 2: Close your eyes Step 3: Stick out your arm and fingerStep 4: Spin a bitStep 5: Buy the hard alcohol nearest to where you're pointingThere, you've chosen for the evening
  5. It wouldn't apply to someone who, as an apostle, did know exactly what he was doing. Whether or not Jesus asked him to do it, we can't ever know in this life, same with whether or not he's in hell or can be forgiven, that's between him and God. What is in the Bible is really rather arbitrary, there were several texts being widely used at the time that weren't included in the Bible, as well as some that weren't circulated very widely that WERE included. I cannot comment on the authenticity or the spiritual correctness of "The Gospel of Judas," but to say you accept what is in the Bible and no
  6. One of the biggest values of AKs in a nl game is pushing all in and winning a pot there. Calling an all in in that spot wouldn't be a very good Idea. I think you played it correctly. You are most likely a slight underdog in that spot. It's possible that they have AK also or AQ but it's more likely that they have a pair, in which case you're %50. No use risking the tournament that early when you are basically even in chips with the bettor. You can find a better spot.
  7. Thanks everyone I appreciate the support! Yeah, I played really tight the first hour or so, then the cards hit me like a train the second hour which put me in the chip lead at my table. Then I bullied my way up a little while I was going through a dry spot. I basically just played more aggressively than everyone else but didn't go crazy. I don't think I went all in until we were almost at the end.
  8. Just wanna let ya'll know that I won. First place paid $1050, not bad for a free tourney
  9. Hey all, I'm at the final table in the $5k new player freeroll on Party. I'm chip leader with 9 players left. 2.5mil next closest has 1.8mil. I'd ask for you guys to come cheer me on, but since observer chat is broken on Party, there's no use!I'm pretty much molesting this table stealing pots left and right without really risking anything. (I guess that's because I'm not really new even though this is my first deposit on Party)
  10. While we're speculating here, first I agree with everything you've said. Could it be possible that there are other subatomic particles that we haven't discovered that could contribute to the formation of other elements? I do have a basic understanding of chemistry, but it's just a basic understanding.
  11. From chemistry we basically know what elements are possible because of the periodic table. The other elements left to be discovered are extremely radioactive and unstable and tend to have existences of hundredths of a second. Water is an extremely stable molecule, and all life that we know of needs it to survive (including bacteria and viruses). There is no requirement that life NEEDS water, but there are a limited number of very stable molecules that life would need. If life were made of radioactive elements they would be in a constant state of decay.
  12. Baseball is boring as hell, I played for several years and I still think it's boring. There is nothing that compares to football. I prefer college over NFL but they are both great. And I'm with all of the above that mentioned Arena trying to tide them over...
  13. That's freakin' cake dude. I used to do that all the time. 2 pieces of white bread, I think my fastest was like 32 seconds.
  14. I think it's a call here too (as stated in my first post in this topic). I just think the raise would be considered for that reason rather than trying to push off a heart.
  15. You're not trying to fold a heart by a raise, you're raising to try and fold another AK to avoid a split pot.
