  1. Without a read I would lead out as you did and pretty much just c/f from there on out. If I know pre flop raiser is aggresive post flop/continuation bet anything... normally go for a big check raise.
  2. I have had a bunch of hands similar to this come up lately. The way I have started to play them is a large bet on the flop between 3/4 pot and pot sized bet. Best way to get weak aces or flush/straight draws to fold. If I get called I usually just check it down unimproved and fold to a big turn or river bet.So the only change I would make is a flop bet of $15 instead of $9.
  3. I will check mine at home but I know for a fact AQ has higher % winning over 20k or so over Ak for me... I think it has a lot to do with how I misplay AK more then anything. Will post stats when I get home and can check on them.
  4. Hmmm.... this is fairly similar to your KK hand when an Ace spiked on the flop... except the pot is only $10 instead of $20.With the Villain min raising instead of pushing his remaing stack makes me even more likely to fold... seems like he is begging for you to call. I think this would be tougher decision if Villain pushes right away instead of the min raise (depending on his post flop aggression/short stack ability would more likely be a bluff if he pushed in my opinion.)Short stacks are annoying.
  5. I think you are right... laydown seems like the right move especially given the read. Min raise pre flop in the blinds from a TAG screams AA/KK to me.If he was on the button doing this I might give him a bit less credit for a monster hand, but OOP in the blinds I have to think he has a big hand. That big flop bet is enough for me to fold.
  6. See I think there are a lot more hands the short stack will push with over calling with. He may only call with high pp or an ace.....he may push with just about anything. In this situation with the board context I don't think giving an extra card will cost you anything and if he checks behind I would push the turn.
  7. Did you even post the hand correctly? I think you have confused yourself. In the hand the big stack makes a presumably normal pre flop raise... and your friend re raises him with AA in the blinds. The big stack folds. What in the hell are you talking about? Unless you posted the hand wrong... which it sounds like you did... he doesn't fold AA and he is never even put to a tough decision of folding it.
  8. It is a full house or a full house... what do you expect? You got the perfect flop, turn and river and you won the hand. The only thing that is strange is your tiny pre flop raise.
  9. 1. Wrong section.2. It is his decision whether it is more important for him to accumulate chips or make it to the money? Sounds like you are just mad he was only trying to make the money and not go for the gold.3. If you pushed 120k into a (who knows blinds but say 8k pot) the big stack is probably going to fold anyway.
  10. If you are debating between pushing/big raise and folding I think it is a no brainer. You push and if he has a set of kings you pay it off or suckout and spike an A/backdoor flush/back door straight. I think Villain most likely has AK or KQ. Flush draw seems less likely when you have the A and K is on the board.
  11. I have seen hands come up like this A LOT... A LOT of times. If UTG+1 is actually playing short stack strategy.... and it is checked to him he will move in whether they have an Ace or a draw or a mid pocket pair etc. I like this line the best.. checking/calling the all in that is sure to come. If he checks behind you he probably doesn't have an Ace and you can bet the turn.If you move in here he will have a hard time calling with weaker hands and will probably call with any Ace since he is short stacked.
  12. I know I am getting flack for this hand which is what I expected.. BUT...I would never try this against a normal "average" no read etc player. This player is playing 55%+ hands and can have absolutely anything. This is the only reason I am making a play at the pot in the first place. Had it been a remotely "normal" player this would have been easy c/f. Having position on him with the board pairing and the 4 to the flush comming I just thought it might be enough for him to lay down whatever junk he had unless he had a high spade.Even with this in mind I still played it terribly....not firing eno
  13. I know this is brutal, but do you put the Villain on a space? A high spade? pairing the board scare him at all? After the river hit I really didn't think he had the flush... how should I bet it if that is what I think?
  14. is this standard play? Another AK hand where I lose a signficant amount of $$... maybe this is why AK is one of my biggest losing hands / misplayed hands.
  15. Any feedback at all here? What do we put Villain on given his stats? Should I be leading out for a big bet on the flop? Totally wrong calling this turn bet?
