steve7stud 0
Hey guys, not sure if this specific question has been asked before. But I am curious. You can only pick one. Picking who should be easy, the why is a bit more difficult.
AC BillP 0
A certain doctor who plays at Borgata--he takes any old pair to the river, always pays off, and looks away from the pot when he makes trips. The nicest gentleman I've ever meet, and his congenial play has paid for a new car for me!! Easily my favorite player--

mbreon 0
Not counting DN....I do like Ted Forrest. He would be one of the last people I would want at my table in any game, cash or tourney.
SOWhatKid 0
Phil Ivey his accomplishments speak for themself His abilty to excell at all games not just NL HoldEm.He has been able to be fairly successful at both tournaments, and the cash games. His traits which can't be read through a book.Fearless.aggressive.heart.focus.he smells fear.darting eyes.feel for the gameI could go on and on but he is the total package

I was wondering if people were going to pick players that they sit with. Or if they were going to pick well known players. Obviously either one is fine.

looshle 6
There's this guy who plays 1-2 NL @ the weekly tournament I play at. He plays anything and loves trying to steal. I had AA under the gun and got all the money in preflop, had him covered, but it was like $125-$130 each. He had T8o. I didn't win but I know he'll be there next week doing the exact same thing, maybe this time theyll hold up for me. He's my favorite player ever.

jonnyhockey 0
A lot of people come to mind. Depends on what we're basing it on. I think Ivey is the best all around player, but for entertainment purposes, I love watching Hellmuth play.If I could pick one player to watch for all of eternity? I'd pick the only player that actually improves my financial status... me! :-)

Alright, besides your obvious choice being you. Do you like the way Devilfish plays, from what you've seen. Or do you just like the name?
Smasharoo 0
Do you like the way Devilfish plays, from what you've seen.I think him and Matusow are the toughest PLO8 cash game players I've seen.Really I think this question is largely about marketing more than than any sort of objective measure of anything.I mean, the guy's got GIANT rings that read DEVIL and FISH.How could it be anyone else? Also. anyone that doesn't answer "me" doesn't have a big enough ego.Clearly, I don't have that problem. Smasharoo 0
So, if you pick yourself, you took care of the who. But what's the why?Fairly certain I explained that I was great. Why am I great? Charisma, baby. Also, I'm exceptional at tilting other players. Even ussually level headed ones.

steve7stud 0
I think it's great that Smash is so modest. But certainly some of you must have a favorite poker player besides yourself. It's a good question imo. Not just someone that you see and idolize. But someone who you have learned from. Hopefully we can all think of someone. I know for a fact that I could list about a page of people that I admire. I'm just curious to see who you guys like and why.By the way, it could very easily be someone that you saw on TV ONE time who played incredibly, and had a profound influence on your game.
