    smiles test

I ran across this at the cardplayer forums, so I figured I'd post it here.I searched to see if it was posted here, but didn't find it. Search wasn't too thorough though.http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/min...surveys/smiles/Test is spotting fake and genuine smiles. I got 15 out of 20, so apparently I need to hone my tell spotting skills.Check it out.
  2. I've thought about signing up for it, since I'd like to keep track of my BR, stats etc. It seems like Poker Tracker(I haven't used this) yet both Mac and Windows users can use pokercharts.Anyone have thoughts on PokerCharts?
  3. I just got back from a live MTT tournament, place 8th out of twelve. Quite a long game but anyway here's my beef and the last hand that I got killed on. It's long so thanks for reading.Four-handed down to two tables, blinds are $400/800 with a $100 ante. I'm third in chips playing tight/aggressive. I get dealt Aces in the big blind. Two calls and dealer folds. I push for $3000 in the Big blind. Villain, under the gun, calls my $3000 bet with hesitation. At first it scared me somewhat since he limped in under the gun, and to me this type of player had two things going for him which he took advan
  4. agreed with replies here.As far as AK goes, players get attached to this hand too often, having been one of them myself. It's a good hand to raise with PF but you got to pay attention to the table and know where you're at. If you raise and miss the flop, then calculate where your at for getting the nuts, 2nd nuts, etc. Nothing wrong with checking or taking free cards. If you hit, play it to your own style, whatever it is.In short, don't let the cards play you.... that's just my two cents.
  5. I checked my hand history, and according to fulltilt it showed that he mucked King rag.My curiosity though is the suggestion to raise PF. This may just be different styles of play from other players, but in NL, in MP with calls behind you I generally would simply call/fold to the BB with this type of hand. Since I pretty new to playing limit, I'm a bit weary of playing this type of hand. Thoughts?
  6. sorry about that. thanks for reply though

  8. I guess I counted on the fact he would have hit a dead card, without even calculating his outs. Bad on my part. Thanks for the replies, I definitely see where I went wrong.

  10. I generally wait for a stronger PP or hand before going up against a really loose player. It's hard to outplay them with a low pocket.
  11. I only read up on Super System NL section, watched "poker" on television, then went to my first live game at a local poker club. Needless to say, I ended up playing a limit game like a NL game. The only smart thing I did was play the .25-.50 game and only bought in with $20, which would have been better than playing the $3-6 game with $100.Afterward, I have been reading many poker books and playing poker games with respect for my bankroll.
