cubbybri 0
I have been playing now for just over a year and I still have an issue when people are telling me about their hands or even when they are playing against me. When some says they make a raise 3*times the big blind do they mean an additional 3* or TO 3* the amount of the BB.When I raise I announce that I am raising TO a certain amount if blinds are 1/2 and I want to raise 3* the BB, I will say 'I raise TO 8'.But there are people who when raising who will state, 'I raise 3 times and then put in 6 and others who state same thing and put in 8.This really frustrates me.As well if I make my standard bet, some people will say, 'Wow, you always raise 4times the big blind, your raises are awful big".I don't argue anymore but I think when you state you are raising x times an amount, you are in reality calling the bet and then you are raising that additional amount.I'm sure I'm just going to confuse myself more when I get responses to this but am I of base in saying this sort of thing. What do you do in your home games when arguments on this sort of thing occur? Thanks in advance. If I'm at all unsure, I ask, "what's the total bet?" And if someone asks me why I ask, I would say, "because you said that you raised$6 but you only put $6 in the pot. You only raised $4." mx957 0
What do you do in your home games when arguments on this sort of thing occur?Dueling Pistols @ 50 paces. Really keeps the game lively.Seriously though if this is the biggest frustration you have, it's not the big of a deal. Use the information as a tool! Does this guy even know what he's betting? Does he really play that much poker or did he read this in a book?C'mon, this is such a small issue. Try focusing on the players play. If you have a question about the amount, have the dealer count it down.

tyfgine 0
it really doesnt matter what they say, cause you could interpret it two different ways.technically, if they raise to 3x the big blind, and the big blind is 2 dollars, you could argue that they should raise to 6.If they say, "i raise 3x the big blind", they would raise 6, making it 8 total.so to answer your question, there is no answer.
