copernicus 0
Anyone know the odds of quads over quads? (no rhyme intended). Will I see this again in my poker lifetime? From which point...you know you have quads, what is P(other quads) or fresh deck you and an opponent are both dealt quads? troyomac 0
Which is rarer? Quads > Quads, or Set > Set > Set?hm...I've never seen quads over quads, and I've seen set over set over set twice. So to answer your question, I suck at math and have no idea.

timwakefield 68
What are the odds in a full ring game of 2 players both ENDING UP with quads?Still not specific enough. We have to assume that both players see all 5 board cards, and for example if you have 55 and board come KKA and you fold, well maybe your opponent had KK and the board was gonna come 5, 5. In other words, if you're trying to determine the realistic likelihood that you will see quads over quads shown down, I think there's too many factors to calculate it. If you want to know how often, with either 2 or 9 players being dealt 2 cards and seeing 5 board cards, there be quads > quads, that is an answerable question (but not by me). copernicus 0
For the fresh deck case the chances of you and another person at a 9 handed table both pairing is .022951.Then 4 out of 5 board cards have to be the remaining pair cards, so thats .000025696, net is 1,722,620:1 and of course youll win half of those. So not only should you see it again, you should win one again.Yeah..seems too probable to me too...but I dont see a problem with my math...Simoooooo!

I am assuming it's 2. I don't think it seems too probable at ALL - once every 1.7 million hands that you and your opponent see the river it will be quads over quads. I'm unclear on why you said he should see it again??? I don't think your average fcper will play 3 million+ hands in his lifetime. On a very related note, it happened to me once =\.$3 rebuyPokerStars Game #6987580954: Tournament #35144510, $3.00+$0.30 Hold'em No Limit - Level V (75/150) - 2006/11/11 - 21:24:04 (ET)Table '35144510 23' 9-max Seat #2 is the buttonSeat 1: jdm15 (15254 in chips) Seat 2: TimWakefield (18850 in chips) Seat 3: tupac2384 (26714 in chips) Seat 4: ASnatchA (19544 in chips) Seat 5: puranen (16536 in chips) Seat 6: StoikPhilo (9650 in chips) Seat 7: pokerravi (9633 in chips) Seat 8: bobby$mooth (4600 in chips) Seat 9: pokerkitty (18955 in chips) tupac2384: posts small blind 75ASnatchA: posts big blind 150*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to TimWakefield [Jc Js]puranen: folds StoikPhilo: calls 150pokerravi: folds bobby$mooth: folds pokerkitty: folds jdm15: calls 150TimWakefield: raises 600 to 750tupac2384: folds ASnatchA is connected ASnatchA: folds StoikPhilo: calls 600jdm15: calls 600*** FLOP *** [8h Jh 8c]StoikPhilo: checks jdm15: bets 600TimWakefield: calls 600StoikPhilo: folds *** TURN *** [8h Jh 8c] [Ah]jdm15: bets 13904 and is all-inTimWakefield: calls 13904*** RIVER *** [8h Jh 8c Ah] [Jd]*** SHOW DOWN ***jdm15: shows [8d 8s] (four of a kind, Eights)TimWakefield: shows [Jc Js] (four of a kind, Jacks)TimWakefield said, "OMG"TimWakefield collected 31483 from potpanchosander is connected TimWakefield said, "OMG"*** SUMMARY ***Total pot 31483 | Rake 0 Board [8h Jh 8c Ah Jd]Seat 1: jdm15 showed [8d 8s] and lost with four of a kind, EightsSeat 2: TimWakefield (button) showed [Jc Js] and won (31483) with four of a kind, JacksSeat 3: tupac2384 (small blind) folded before FlopSeat 4: ASnatchA (big blind) folded before FlopSeat 5: puranen folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 6: StoikPhilo folded on the FlopSeat 7: pokerravi folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 8: bobby$mooth folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 9: pokerkitty folded before Flop (didn't bet)

Nobody folds a PP do they? It was also only when each player has a PP (ala a BBJ), not when one has a PP and the board has the other 2, with the other 3 hitting one card of another player.Serious multitablers will play 1.7 mill in the course of a few years.
