  1. I agree, well, not about esfandiari, but about Mike the Mouth. I like watching him play. 1. cause he is entertaining and makes a few nice plays from time to time. 2. to see the matusow blowup. If he's in the tournament its as reliable as taxes and death. You don't always know when but it comes, LOL. Good luck at the tables, PKR.
  2. Thanks for the post Daniel, I have to admit I am a No Limit player. I hate limit games cause I get out drawn a lot. I'll have to think about getting back into it. Good luck in your next tournament. On a side note and you post some advice on playing Cash game. I have a $200min-$500min NL cash game I am thinking about jumping into. I have to admit though I am really good at tournaments but not in cash games. I have an aggressive style that hurts me with cash games. I could use all the advice possible. Thanks, J
  3. I would estimate 10 hrs, first two blind levels are 1hr each and then 30min from then on. 16,000 chips to start off in play. Consider these two facts, 40 buy-in ... $40 re-buys for full starting stack .... $20 add-on for 1/2 stack and full re-buys for 2 hours and add ons after 2hrs. If 10 of the twenty rebuy in the first two hours, that puts another 8,000 chips in play. 800 chips* 10 players. After the rebuys then the addons kick in, If every player brings a $100 then they all can buy-in, rebuy and get an add-on. buyin=800, rebuy=800, 1600*20=32,000 plus what ever addons are going to be.
  4. Hello all,A weekly 8-10 player game my roommates and I used to run was the following, Buy-in $25red=50green=100blue=500black=1000Starting chip stack was 10 of each color, totaling 16,500. I know this is high but we liked playing with a lot of chips. Blinds were every 15 mins.blinds50/5050/100100/200150/300200/400250/500300/600400/800500/1000600/1200700/1400800/1600900/18001000/2000 It was heads up usually here or within a blind level1500/30002000/4000 The game usually ended here, about 4 hrs long3000/60004000/8000We always felt comfortable with the legth and starting chip stacks. 5. Excitement in a hand preflop is relative to the field your playing and the position you are in for chips. I've been playing NLHE for about 5 yrs now. I play live 3-4 days a week and online everyday. When I look down at AA or KK, I know i'm strong. I also know I only want one person in on the flop with me. Thats when positioning and the table your at comes into play. Am I in early position, where I could call the blind and hopefully get a raise I can come over the top of or am I in late position with multiple callers I need to filter out of the hand. From there you play the hand based on
  6. Hello all, What a situation to be put in. I've read most of your responses. Here is my two sense. First off every hand is a story being told. The AK raise preflop signifys strength or trying to steal the blinds. The BB calling says, he is not strong but has a hand he wants to see the flop with. Most likely a drawing hand or small pair. When the flop comes A98, the BB has to assume we hit the flop based on our preflop raise. If he is drawing from early position he isn't going to bet into a potential paired Ace. The BB checks and expects to call for another card on a draw or fold if t
  7. This posting never says Phil Ivey is the small blind going all in with Q J . The small blind is unknown. I also find it hard to believe Hanson didn't stay in to see a flop. He plays ATC available.
