  3. Hey I was all for a game today. Jumped on with an hour to go and just saw is was me and Sox. So instead of playing him I decided to unregister and just ship him the $2. Saves the embarrasment. But with 32 members now the next tourney should get a turnout.Road2vegas
  4. Well good for you if you can do it.This is a live tourney we are talking about. There is no keep playing. You get ready, get your head right, drive out to the venue, outlay a small buy in.You expect a bit of a fun game cause there arent any really big prizes or much of a cash pay out structure. You are correct the game is very beatable, but you must be willing to lose the 4/5 times and drive home each time wondering why you bother.Remember this is pub league we are talking about. The only way to really win is have a good time, and the only way that I can is to play more than a couple of ha
  5. I probably didnt explain myself right.Everyone needs to take advantage of bad players. Its like playing online for play money. If someone spent a year playing for play money thier game would be based on what works there. If you jumped into 100nl with the same knowledge, and used the same techniques you wouldnt be around for long. There are some plays that are profitable in pub leagues, you just don't want to make it a habit of playing the marginally profitable hands. Because when you try the same hands against pleyers which have a clue, they turn into huge losses. Of course you need to know
  6. Ive played in poker leagues for a few years off and on. Good points-You get really good at reading tells. They are so obvious.Mistakes dont cost you your rent money. In my leagues you can win Seats to the WSOP or a share of $200,000 when it comes to the finals.Bad points - You can find yourself making bad habits, taking advantage poor players and not adjusting back when it comes time to play for something real.It messes with your head. I once went all in with my first hand of the night, I got 5 callers...... some people are there for bingo night.Worse of all for me are the wanna be players,
  7. 2011 goals -Profit being the greater goal.Build bankroll (properly) , play more hands (havent set a number yet) , put in time (pretty much needed for the # hands goal), study poker. Post hands.Get more active on here. Satellite a few Sunday tournies to have my shot.Investigate coaching and see if I can afford it lol. And be more active on this forum And find a cool avatar

  11. Thanks Max,Spot on with the advice. Shouldn't have been there to begin with, shouldn't have tried to dig myself out either. If people don't mind, and if my inbox isn't spammed with hatemail, I will post up a couple more hands that have been keeping me up at night. Thanks all
  12. Tourney was only an $8.80 180 man I think. Only just started to get into the money.I put him on the flush draw or an over pair, but a stronger flush along the lines of AsKs AsQs. When the river came I just didnt have the balls to let it go. Thought I would rep the fullhouse, which was just fishy cause I didnt set the hand up to. He could have had a mid overpair, as his raise Pre might have suggested. Even then I could have been repping the flush.Lesson learned thanks for the advice peeps, fold pre next time.......
