I have read a number of articles of late regarding certain pro's advopcating the use of specialist drugs in order to support their game. Matusow, Phillips and now Negreanu. Do you think these should be allowed / supported / promoted? Will they be available to the wider public (i.e. outside of Vegas / USA) and do you really think they would make a difference to your average 5/10 Limit or 2/4 NL player who is good, but not great?Discuss.

Why do you have to pop in on every post and annoy the piss out of everyone??To the OP - I dont think I would take any of these new "performance" pills. Im sure most of them are a bunch of herbal concoctions that are meant to improve concentration, memory, etc. They will not turn your everyday 2/4 player into DN though. JMO

Well just look at Daniels performance since he started taking them. Pretty much all of 2005. I think the pills abilities speak for themselves. I hear they are having a hard time keeping them in stock.

The word illegal isnt directed at "federal law"it can be used in the same context in which your post was described, Ie: The WSOP or any official poker game held within a casino.meaning they don't ban it as a "enhancement" On the other side., I've won two MTT's while drinking, and came 2nd in the Freerole event in Vegas with negreanu after i had thrown back about 5 beer.should alcohol be allowed while playing poker??.. i mean, i sure as hell seem to get good results while drinking

They are not taking any illegal drugs, they are vitamins and herbal supplements. Phillips however takes a prescription drug that helps him focus, but he has ADD or ADHD so he would be taking it anyway.

just out of curiosity, have any of u 'puffed' and played?i find playing with friends, it's easier to sell yourself as out of control if u drink a bit, and can keep your head reasonably clear. the puff adds to this effect.plus it's more fun.
