dan and me at the wynn poker reception

First let me start by saying that I have been lurking at this forum for a long time now and have read a ton of posts by the regulars and your input is very helpful at times. I have been playing poker very sucessfully now for a year and a half and funded my vacation to Vegas on money I won at the tables. While in Vegas I had a chance to play at many p0ker rooms and I must say that the Wynn room is top notch. If your even in Vegas stop by and you might be as lucky as I was to run into Dan and talk to him. He is a great guy in person. I was in Vegas for a a couple days and decided to stop by the Wynn to see if I could get a peak at my idol and maybe even get a picture with him. I was in the poker room and saw Mike Sexton walking out so I decided to follow him to see if I could get a picture. I saw posted on a wall in the conference area that Dan was hosting a poker reception and decided I would go to the room and see if I could get a glimpse of him. I walked up to the room and a lady sitting outside with a list of names asked me my name and I said I was not on the list and she said ah, go ahead in anyway! I was in total amazment. As soon as I walked in I saw Dan at a table signing autographs and grabbed one from him along with this picture. I saw Dan, Hoyt Corkins, Dan Harrington, Mike Sexton and Todd Brunson. There were a bunch of other poker players there that I did not recognize. Needless to say Dan was an extremely nice guy and his speech was extremely funny. I wish you all could have seen it. Anyway as Dan was talking Hoyt and his Wife were standing next to me and my girlfriend so we introduced ourselves and began having a conversation. Hoyt invited us to hang out with hin and we went to a cafe in the Wynn and had a drink for a couple hours. I got to sit with a WPT champion and talked about many things including poker. He gave me some great advice. When we were leaving Hoyt gave me his email address and invited us to aruba with them in September (or November) which I will definately be taking him up on. Needless to say it was a great experience and made my vacation. Anyway Dan I just wanted to say it was great to meet you and I hope to play with you some day when I get up to that level.-Jason

I can't put my finger on what type of creature that Harrington looks like in that photo. He looks like he just spent a little too much time concocting methamphetamines in his Aunt Josie's kitchen. :cry:

Totally amazing. Last year Dan and I (another Dan, NOT DN) accidentally heard about a fulltiltpoker reception, decided to check it out, and had a very similar, open reception. The poker community is a very friendly one.That said, I noticed that the Hoyt tips on better playing did not make it to your post.Confess! I really would like to know what his answers were to your questions. I "know" you asked some good questions, and the answers are just the mineral for this forum.By the way, thanks for posting the photos and story.
