i was just wondering if there was anyone whos posts here who plays strictly multi table tournaments and was also wondering if anyone is successful in multi table tournaments more often than not.P.S. How did you guys who played the Million dollar on Party Poker today do?

I've played my fair share of them.i also tried to build a bank role on strictly MTT's with 50 bones.placed in money in 2 of 4, then lost another one., now down to 20 bucks.You can't rely on MTT's for income.

yea i only play multi table tournaments usually once a week and sometimes 2.One week I grew fond of them because I played the Bodog 2500 guaranteed and placed 4th in it, then the next night played it again and placed 2nd in it, then the next night I played it again and my KK got sucked out by AK preflop to knock me out in 15th.I was looking for 3 final tables in a row, but it didnt work out.

I like to play the mtt qualifiers for the million dollar tourny and the saturday night 200 K on party. Today was my second time playing in the million dollar tourny and I have yet to cash. However, this month I qualified one extra time for $640 and last month I qualified two extra times for $1280. So I've made more $ qualifying multiple times than in the actual tournies themselves.I don't only play mtt though. To me the big tournaments are like a lotto ticket, I hope someday I hit one big but I'm not counting on it happening. I 4 table 2/4 to make steady cash.To answer your questions specifically I do not do well in mtt more often than not. However I have won a couple of smaller buy in mtt for a few thousand dollars and thats really the only way to make money on them. In the million dollar today I finished 888.

I play in mostly MTT, finished 310th in yesterdays PP million, out of the money. guess playing mostly MTT puts me in the donkey category. you need to have a lot of patience(and hopefully a healthy bankroll) to survive playing MTTs. Not patience while youre playing, the winners are usually the guys willing to put most/all of their chips on the line fairly early in the tourney in an effort to build a big stack, or bust. Patience in that, youre going to lose way more often than youll win, and youll lose in many souls-crushing ways like getting it all in with KK and someone with a huge stack will call and win with A7s because theyve built up enough chips to gamble with you. You can go a long time between wins(i consider "wins" to be any prize worth up to 10 times the amount of the buyin) so it can really test your patience and sanity. Don't know if I'd recommend playing only/mostly MTTs, i do it only because it doesn't fit my personality to grind it out. Not disciplined enough.Good luck.

Id also suggest railbirding a successful player for a few tourneys to see how they play, what they do. its been very helpful for me. On Partypoker, two of the more successful and prolific players are HoytCorkins5 and NUTZREALBIG, I try to watch them every time they play.
