I think there needs to be a small white truck parked next to the scene of the accident, watching but not participating.

Not here for an argument. I personally enjoy video games. But there's plenty of info out there about Fortnite and the way it's eclipsing every record for video games by a fair margin. In my house, with my 13 year old, it almost cost him his honours graduation from grade 8. After being warned in school about playing games, he still got caught playing fortnite on his laptop in class. No other video game came remotely close to anything beyond 'current interest' with him until fortnite came out. The first article is the long paper on the build characteristics of these newest games.

https://www.techspot...-addiction.html

https://www.nytimes....ite-addict.html

https://www.cbc.ca/n...order-1.4710500

I still play video games daily. Not as much as I'd like but once the kid is in bed my wife usually reads and I hop on my PS4 or Pc. Fortnite is pretty big. It's no different than League of Legends or CSGO though since those games have all had similar stories in their closet. Myself, I have over 1500 hours in CSGO.

I question why a 9 yr Old has access to the game and also why they have access to a credit card. My soon to be 8 yr old is not allowed to play Fortnite, period. He also has zero access to our credit cards. I'll be "that guy" and say that yes video games are addictive but there needs to be some blame on the parents because they seem to not know wtf their kids are doing some 5-6 hours a day.

Jin plays games. He doesn't play alone. One of us is always around when he plays. Sometimes we play together. I'm a strong advocate that gaming can be beneficial. The things he creates in minecraft are amazing. Imo it's no different than grabbing a piece of paper and crayons and drawing. Or getting a box of Legos and building something. It's just you do it on a tv. I do let him play Dark Souls which was frowned upon by my wife but over time it's actually had noticeable benefits. It's a very challenging game. It's violent in that you kill monsters of all types with swords. I turn blood off. If there was killing of humans it would have been a no go. Jin of the past would give up challenges pretty quick. He would have melt downs if he couldn't "master" something immediately. But his love of this game changed that. He would literally die 15 times to the same boss but keep on trying until he would beat it and the joy of doing so was enormous. It's now moved on to other parts of his life. He doesn't meltdown anymore. He keeps pushing/trying to get better or accomplish his goals. It was clear that the challenge was what he fixated on and not the stabbing, lol. So we let him play. He wants to play Fortnite. But using guns to kill others regardless of the cartoon graphics just doesn't sit well with us. There are for more suitable games he can play. Just wish I could get him into Madden, FIFA, and NHL lol.

I forgot my original point lol.

Excellent trade for the Raptors.

They got Kawai and Green for Emar (who is a super good person and very flawed player) plus basically what they got from the Knicks when they dumped Barney on them.

They have the potential of having the best defense on the floor for today's NBA at times that can switch everything.

Siakim, OG, Kawai, Green and Delon Wright. Good luck scoring on the defense.

If Kawai is healthy and plays like a top 10 player for one year Raptors come out ahead. If Kawai is screwed up and injured most of the year bad trade. If he somehow decides to sign long term massive massive win for the Raptors.

IMO, NBA is a strongest link sport. The best player in the trade is Kawhi by a long shot. He can be a top 5 player if it works out, so good deal. It's near impossible to acquire players like Kawhi so if the opportunity arises you just do it at whatever cost and try to sell him on playing in Toronto once he is there.

Agree 100%

I dont mind this deal at all, as a chance to go for a true run at the finals for this year. And what did you really give up? A max contract Demar, who is probably overpaid. A pick that is protected from 1-20! And Poetl, who whatever, not the end of the world. Green can help, and Kawhi is our shot at the finals. Or else, we were going to lose to Boston/Philly in the 2nd
round, and wonder what if all over again.
I hate teams that manage themselves into also rans territory. Play to go as far as possible, don;t be satisfied with status quo. Take chances!

This team is pretty close to blow it all up and build around its young core anyway, so lets go for it now. You still kept Siakam+OG. It was either this, or sit back and keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

Good move. Now convince Kawhi to play like mad this year, and get that max deal from LA next summer. He probably wont stay here long term, but you never know, a lot can change in 12 months.

He told him "you slowrolled me ". Then his post tourney interview he had a lot of excuses.
I watched it all now.
Maybe he was "extremely tired after an epic battle" and had a call made "that changed his life forever", as you said about Cynn, just 10 seconds before he said those words.
Same battle right?

I feel like I should give anyone who has gone through what these guys have gone through the last few days quite a large benefit of the doubt. I can't even begin to imagine where their head is at, at that moment, but they are nowhere near their most pragmatic and lucid best. I certainly would not take 10 seconds out of 40 hours and make a call on them based on that.

You can see it in Cynn even as he accepts congratulations, he really doesn't know what to do or say. Its way beyond anything we can understand, so to me, I congratulate both of them on a great battle and they both appear to be great guys, at least on camera.

I kind of agree with you Steve. Even Brazil (well, mostly Neymar) has become this flopping/diving crap.
Uruguay seems to be ok, though Suarez has issues with not spitting on people.

France is always my rooting interest because we have family there and long ago they had 2 Armenians on their team, and I was rooting for them, and they won it all.
Since then its been pretty dry.

Also, have a soft spot for Uruguay, cause they were the first country to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

Ya, if you didnt know by now, I choose my sports teams in the strangest of ways. Go Whalers!

The left media is definitely guilty of being too quick to latch on to "too good to be true" stories about Trump/the right, and they inevitably spread like wildfire because people are really ready to eat that stuff up right now.

The right media is guilty of deliberately lying to the American people about pretty much everything, and literally working as a propaganda machine for the Republican Party.

I think we need to be careful of what we call “left media” here. The worst instances of this kind of ‘wildfire’ story (there’s been several several!) have very rarely been actual reporting done by big papers. They’ve usually been a tweet, often even by a non-reporter. They never make it into the papers because that’s what the editorial and fact-checking system does.

I can’t think of a single case where a report has been outright wrong, it has been reported by a big paper, and they have not issued a clear and explicit correction in a very short time. In almost every case, the correction came from their own review rather than another news source pointing out the error.
