I really did jinx the poor kid. Things just went off kilter after my post, but then, he turned 18 yesterday, and all that pressure playing at home.

Also, was disappointed to the see the crowd, looked kind of sparse, maybe weather played a factor.
I really wanted to make it out there this week, last night would have been a good night after the storms, with Felix+Nestor playing at same time.

btw, I cant believe Daniel Nestor is still playing competitive tennis. I'm sure easier to sustain playing doubles, but still.
I used to see him all the time at York U gym/track back in late 80's/early 90's when he first started to gain some attention, and we are about same age. WTF, well done!

Tennis is still a bit of a fringe sport for the masses and they haven't heard of him before so it's not that surprising. There is a mini boom at the moment in tennis participation and Tennis Canada is doing a great job at developing elite players.

As good as Denis is Félix Auger-Aliassime who is a year younger and nursing an injury at the moment is considered the better prospect to break through to the top of the tennis World. They are great friends and it can only help that they will be pushing each other.

one year later, its Felix time. (hope i dont jinx him, he's playing well)

nice call Bob, been following him even closer since you mentioned it last year, kid has a bright future it would seem.

I have a true hate for idiot drunks

Damn, I like being drunk! Not sure Im always an idiot, but maybe sometimes.
Not driving while I do it, but 'idiot drunk' can be fun.

(its not easy being a Whalers fan, we need to drink to get by sometimes)

Disappointed at the return, but not too surprised. They have been trying to trade him forever, so maybe this was as good as it was going to get. Maybe other GM's see the question marks too? Its not like Carolina wanted to trade him to Buffalo, so this means no other team offered a 1st rounder for this "30 goal scorer".

What I find funny is how much he was slagged by most people when he didn't score, (only had 49pts in 82gp last year) or got concussions routinely, and was overpaid at 6mill....and now 1 year away from being a UFA, all anyone can recall about him is that he scored 30 goals.

I think he's a very good player, always have, and I think he should do well in Buffalo if used properly, but it seems like everyone suddenly changed their views about him.
At least on my twitter feed. lol
