  1. I will admit that the $50 to $1000 thread was the main reason I made the jump to online poker years ago. I would have paid him a royalty if he wasn't such an ass in other respects.
  2. Thanks, this makes sense to me.
  3. But isn't that the point of waiting for the turn? By raising the flop, people are still correct to chase, while raising the turn on a safe card forces your opponent to make an error and chase when they shouldn't? My question is whether I'm applying this theory in the wrong spot. Pot size on the flop is 10SB when the action is to me on the flop, where as it would be 7-8BB when its to me on the turn. Is that difference enough to wait?
  4. I raise PF.But as is, I'm folding that flop. Call it weak, but what are you hoping for on the turn? I see us having 3 cards (non diamond 10s) that we feel good about. 2 jacks, that we are good with. Ok 5 outs and the pots decent, maybe worth a call. but a king is bad, and any diamond is bad, and not improving is bad. You have MP on a pretty coordinated board. don't go crazy.
  5. This is my line of thinking on KJo at least. A guy on here once made a big stink about how its weak to not raise KJo, so I started doing it and it worked. I think I have a harder time getting off of TPGK with AT than I do KJ, which makes AT for me unprofitable enough to not come in for a raise.
  6. Point taken. I'll raise KJ in that spot for that very reason, but find myself getting hosed when I push ATo too much.
  7. Is everyone raising PF here? I'm not. Maybe if I'm opening, but with 1 limper I'm calling. Please explain if this is a leak.

And when the ultimate scare card comes on the turn, no way I can play it any further,
  9. Curious if I overplayed this hand. I am currently 2nd place in chips with 31 to go in a $20 180 SnG. 10. Considering his post count, this dude is probably long gone, but this gets my vote a best post in a very entertaining thread. I wish this was a reputable site though. I'd instantly play these instead of stars. Just to taunt other players in pirate talk. Even after it becomes horribly unfunny.
  11. Unfortunately, some of us picked our internet nickname when going through this phase years ago and it was too late to change when we got over it. Therefore damning ourselves to pulling the objectivists out of the woodwork wherever we go.Kids, think long and hard about those tattoos. (howard) Roark
  12. By "fine" you are saying that you typically would play AQs in late position by calling a min or stadard raise and playing conservatively post flop? That's essencially what I'm asking about, the first decision in what do do when MP1 min rasies. Throwing out what the SB does after our decision, noone pops it back here/folds? With AQs, you are looking to see the flop before making any decisions that make/break your tournament? Call me weak, but I may just fold AQo here as well. I think after that decision is made, all my other decisions aren't hard. I'm priced into calling the SB all in, and only
  13. I've always had problems with AQ, limit and NL. So here's a hand to look at. It was in the WWdN weekly tournament on Stars if anyone plays it. 10+1 , 125 entrys, top 18 pay, we are down to about 20. I'm looking at the preflop decisions because it was checked down after the flop. MP1 is standard, but the SB has been tight as a drum. By just calling the min raise, did I force myself into this hand? Knowing the SB is tight, I don't want to isolate with AQs, right? Call, call standard here, or does anyone fold or Raise/call? 15. This statement jumped out at me. I always assumed the juicyist games were on Friday and Saturday night. When the frat boys are drunk and the moms are blowing off some steam after a long week. Am I wrong? And if not, why wouldn't you play during this time? Roark
