An I'm Going To Vegas Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm going to Vegas on Thurs and just had a few random questions1)If you have seen LOVE, does it matter what seats you get? As in are the cheaper seats a much worse view then the more expensive seats2) Any other show recommendations? Comedy or musical acts not broadway type shows?3)Any other random tips or places I should go to?

Saw LOVE last year and had some cheaper seats, but they were still excellent - there really are no bad seats.

Don't think it'd matter too much, but not sure if I'd go with the cheapest. We got some mid-range seats that I was happy with.O is pretty amazing. Phantom's technically one of the best productions I've ever seen, though I know you said no Broadway. Lance Burton was decent if you're into magic. Zumanity's rather risque, but kind of fun if you're easy-going/open-minded. Legends at IP is rather hokey, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. There's some rotating stand-up at Harrah's that was cheap fun.If you want an amazing/strong/value drink on the Strip, there's a Lemonade stand in front of Caesar's Palace (on the corner across from Flamingo) that sells a Spanish Steps Lemonade. If I recall correctly, it's like $8 for the equivalent of probably 5 shots.

Wow, that lemonade sounds like it would cleanse your entire digestive system...

I have gone to see Love twice and can tell you with no doubt in my mind that the cheaper seats are the way to go. There are things to watch everywhere including in the air and being higher gives a better perspective at half the price. Cheaper seats is an easy decision for that show. O is amazing.Zumanity was somewhere between awful and horrific. And to be clear, it is not a lack of an open mind. The show just didn't involve anything entertaining. I was not offended, but the lack of cool tricks or really anything to keep my attention was frustrating (and don't say the mild erotica, because there are cheaper shows if that is what you are looking for).Cobalt, thanks for the drink tip. I am heading out there this weekend too and might hit that stand up. eYank, I recomment the Goldent Steer steakhouse. It is off the strip, but is great food (although not cheap).

I know you said no Broadway type.... but Jersey Boys is pretty amazing, and more musical than most I'm sure. If you like the 4 Seasons especially.

Thanks. I live in NY so can really see most Broadway shows when I want. That lemonade sounds really cool. Last time I had a drink that strong (the hand grenade on Bourbon Street) I was passed out by midnight :)I've also seen Frank Caliendo at school, but I would go see Carrot Top. I think I'm definitely going to go see LOVE. I'm a big Beatles fan and have heard great things from everyone

LOVE is amazing. I bought the most expensive seats they had & this was one of the few times I thought I could have done just as well higher up. So much of the show takes place in the air, higher is probably better. Sound system is kick=ass. when I think of LOVE i'll always remember the drunk 50-something woman who did a 8 row header down the aisle right before the show started. She was so drunk she didn't feel it. the old man she was with never saw a thing. Too funny but I guess you had to be there.P. S> I thought Zumanity totally sucked.

Love is done completley in the round, and the theatre isn't super tall, so there aren't horrible seats by any means. I liked 'O' better than love. Mystere is good too. #3 depends entirely on the purpose of your trip and the people you will have with you.

eh, regardless of who you have with you, one of the most relaxing times i've had in vegas was having a couple drinks on the bellagio fontana patio with zach, mrs. zach, cobalt and ahsun (sp?) overlooking the fountains.

I've only seen 2 Cirque shows, Ka and Mystere, and both were excellent. I did have some of the best seats though.

I could've easily been biased by my guest at Zumanity and the evening that followed. :)No prob. Have gotten it every summer that I've been out there and tried to tell most people that I can. Granted, it's not for everyone, since it's going to be a bit on the sweeter, rum-heavy side.

Definitely one of my favorite spots in Vegas. Just magnificently grand/chill. I remember before the first time that I went thinking that it'd probably be packed out and expensive to get in. Each time that I've gone on a weeknight, there's never been a wait. The drinks/apps are slightly pricey, but definitely not ridiculous.
