I was inside the this building on Friday working. I've got to know some of the people who work in the barber shop and live in the building where the fire started. One guy in particular helps me every 2 month, nice guy, I really hope he's okay.

It was our station amd my shift that was first in. Incredibly tough conditions, fire was through the whole building. We wouldn’t even have gone inside because of the high level of heat and fire except it was known there were likely occupants. The two guys from the squad at my hall pulled both victims out of the basement. Even for us, pretty dramatic rescue. Tough one.

it was sketchy for a bit. But risk a lot to save a lot. Worth it. Tragic. I feel for Corrado too. Guys been cutting hair there for like 50 years.

Corrado was a neighbourhood institution. He's been retired from cutting hair but you're right about him cutting hair for 50 years. He owns both the building with the barber shop in it and the one next to it where I think the fire started.

If anyone is interested I am running a poker tournament for my daughters softball team. It’s in Aurora on March 23

This is happening this coming Saturday

Bianca Andreescu was ranked number 3 in the World Juniors 3 years ago and was always one of the top players in the World for her age so her having success isn't surprising. Her going from where she was last year to the level of tennis she is playing this week is a bit surprising but you just never know when it can kick in plus players getting super hot for a week isn't uncommon.

Don't expect this from her every week but she should make a nice climb in the rankings and she has legit weapons to be a top 20 player.

I showed my daughter the video on her conversation with her coach. How she must be focus on every single ball. Absolutely love her comment on how she wants this so bad

good luck with the event Wayne. With my Brother's situation there's no chance that I'm going to be able to attend.

I would like to thank JP and Sev for attending. We had a total of 67 players

JP came in 4th and Sev won the tournament

The team did extremely well and they now want to adopt my daughter on the team. The team is mainly 2008 girls and my daughter is a 2007. So next year we are on another team

Sev was also very generous and donated a part of his winnings back to the team

I have a butcher client who runs a store on the Danforth. He came in 8th at the poker tournament

They are putting in bike lanes on the danforth. So he is closing up shop. He built his business from scratch for 4 years and is now walking away. Says the bike lanes will ruin business for him.

So it got me thinking. We use to go to a korean restaurant on Bloor. We don’t frequent it as much because there is no place to park

Seems drastic. I’m going to go out on a limb and say he isn’t very profitable as things currently stand if he is willing to close his shop on the unproven presumption of future lost business.

Profitability is there. They are just foreseeing the future. Acting now before it happens

Same thing for myself. Do we go to our favorite Korean restaurant in the west end. No because no parking on Bloor. I rather drive to Markham

I don't think the bike lane will ruin his business that much, as long as there is some sort of parking near by. I actually like the bike lanes especially the elevated ones or the ones with barriers of some sort. There's enough cyclists in the city that all streets should now have a bike lane.

With that being said some faster cyclist still feel the need to be in the car lane even when there's a bike lane. This pisses me off for some reason, and it's very hard to piss me off.

I use to work at North York General some time ago but saw some crazy stuff like a truck stealing a donation incubator by chain the incubator and driving off with it. Never got caught.

New computers left in a room and the next day they were all gone. Never got caught.
